I hate being so pressed for time.
(EDIT: It caused me to post this here instead of in Nash's "Controversial Persuade" topic!) (I USED to be much less hurried all the time...) (No need to delete this, just go with it!)
I just want to point out that there are HUGE problems at the core of Math.
1 + 1 may not equal 2!!
Bertrand Russell took hundreds of pages in Principia Mathematica constructing a rigorous proof that 1 + 1 does indeed equal two.
But it took Hundreds of pages!!!
It is FAR from Obvious.
Whole numbers are NOT natural (as Vespuleth pointed out). Base e systems seem the way of Nature.
Whole numbers just Never Occur naturally.
They should never be held up as an example in a case like this!
And to limit the Universe to two ways of being strikes me as wrong too.
It can not be truthfully asserted that one must take either of your two positions.
Why not have alternatives?
You say that we can't know.
So how can you claim to know??

I find that our suffering is based on earthly matters. Matters that cannot impede our true progress, but under frail conditions can hinder it. Something just came to me recently, and I think it may shed some light on those who bother to truly hear it(this is not directed at anyone in particular, more of a pick-me-up for you guys).
"Suffering is as easy as thinking a thought. Think of suffering as a net. Anyone can get caught up in it, but if you're not gonna find a way out of it, why whine about it? It must be pretty comfortable.
If you can suffer, you can still live. And if you can still live, you must be here for a reason. So stop stalling and find it already!"

OK, an on-topic post! (I edited the last one)
I would like to know where people get the notion of "for a reason" "For a Purpose" and "by design".
It is ALL just psychological projection.
There does not NEED to be any of the above.
Things might just look that way, without actually being that way.
To deny that is to deny Logic.
If you deny Logic, why debate?
There will be NO Answers on this sort of thing until one dies.
Then it will be too late to tell the rest of us!
Because of this I find Faith to be almost Child-Like in it's unwavering insistence upon being right!
I mean... Why are Christians NOT out Murdering Wiccans??
The Bible Specifically Says, in No Uncertain Terms ; "Thou Shalt NOT Suffer a Witch to Live"
That is a Mandate from God if ever I heard one!
So, get out there and KILL for God!
Nobody has been able to reconcile that quote with the first commandment of "Thou Shalt Not Kill" in my experience.
Anyone here care to try?

To be honest Rodak, I never found the Bible very reliable, as it was written by man. Although in many cases, I find myself to be confused.
