You have to beat about 4 more dragons, then, without any breaks in between battles, you have to fight every dragon with half of their HP. After you beat them all again, you have to beat the Ultimate dragon right after that with now breaks. After you beat the Ultimate dragon, beat the last boss again to get the secret ending. You only need to beat the dragon once to get the special ending. Basically, all you need is the gnir when you fight the last boss and you can access the bonus ending. I don't think you get a third ending if you beat all the dragons, though I haven't done this yet. I haven't heard anything to that effect.

I just got to the Dragovian Sanctuary. The hero must be stupid not to be able to... *SPOILER* ...figure out why everyone knows who he is and who that old man really is (though it wasn't directly stated, it's pretty obvious.) *END SPOILER* Also, in the place where the Dragovian Lord is, I found those enemies with political names to be funny. Read these descriptions: Head of State: "The self-proclaimed brains of the team. Capable of casting both lightning-based and healing spells. Boasts of being elected by its fellow party members. In reality, it was handed the position by their father." (Sound familiar? ) Right Wing: "Famed for chuckling evilly during battle. In reality, chuckles evilly all the time." (Such is the nature of conservatives) Left Wing: "Incessantly complains about the activites of the right wing, body politic, and head of state, but lacks the motivation to actually do anything about it." (Sounds just like our Democrats) I also found it funny when one of the monsters on my Monster Team (Bush-W) attacked the Head of State. (It would have been funnier if he attacked the Left Wing, though) Well, I guess as you can see from my post, I'm Independent. I think that the Republicans and Democrats are just a bunch of immature babies fighting over stupid things and all they really want is to run the country. I'm gonna stop myself now because I might offend some people. This thread is meant for DQVIII, so let's continue with that.

I finally got this game last week and have been loving it. I'm about 10 hours in. The lighthearted feel is nice.

the only thing I'm not liking the allocation of the ability points as I'm quite unsure what are the best skills for each character to upgrade. It's sort of a minor nuisance, sometimes I feel like I am wasting my points and that's not a fun feeling.

Don't worry. Just allocate the points randomly. Most of the differerent skills will be of use to you (just don't go for Fisticuffs. It's a waste of time). I'm a fan of the final skill on the list (like Jessica's Sex Appeal), because the skills you obtain tend to focus more on the character's personality. Try to go for Yangus' axe skills, though. You want to get Helm Splitter. That skill will help with many bosses.

For hero, balance out sword and spear, because you will want the spear for later.

I have fun with the skill allocation. I'm always thinking "what skill am I going to get next?".
My favorite skills: Mercurial Thrust (Spear) Multithrust (Spear) Helm Splitter (Axe) Hatchet Man (Axe) Whistle (Humanity) Nose for Treasure (Humanity) Hip Drop (Sex Appeal)

I really dont know how muhc I have caused with the whole charging thing it has been a while since I have played it. I just wanted to say it is an amazing game lol.

I've decided to start the game over, but I'm going to try never to use the Zoom or Evac spells or any Chimaera Wings.
Those spells/items make the game too easy. It's a lot funner running from town to town and getting into battles.
