reality, vista looks alot different. it's got a different color scheme, it doesn't say start anymore... and it doesn't take half as long to implode as xp does (or at least i'm betting...)

eww... Windows + AIM + MySpace + IE yuck Seriously, though, I think Vista will be a downgrade from XP. I mean, it will look a lot shinier, and it will certainly be more secure than XPSP1, but those shiny graphics require a lot more resources. I mean, if you've even installed IE7 (my mom has), you will notice that it takes up a lot more memory than IE6 (and certainly more than FF) for what appears to be an attempt at making IE more Mac/FFish. But anyways, yeah, your background looks cool (I assume that's why you made the post).

The front page looks great. It looks like some of the others still need to be fully integrated with the design you have going. One gripe is that the blog page is a mile long (mostly empty, with just the background color down the center). Overall, I'm impressed. The work you've done looks great.

it does look good. some of the images need clipped (like the title on most pages that aren't home); bot otherwise, good clean, organized. man that middle pic of you is old...

heh yeah it is old, but anyways I'm still in the process of updating, I was mostly working on the main page yesterday but also managed to get my blog started and "mind" started. I'll be integrating more graphics and things later as I go. This is just the start :-) Thanks for checking though guys!

Great job! I liked the mind section of your site. I agree that we can never reach perfection, but we can always strive to be the best we can be. One thing, though. You spelled "adventure" in "Link's Adventure" as "adventured".

Civilization 4: Warlords. Possibly the best game ever?

I have Civilization 3 and that's a lot of fun. What's Civ 4 like?

Civ 4 is similar, but probably has the most improved out of all previous Civ games. I might state some Civ 3 things, but I haven't played it in awhile, here is what I believe is new. 1) New units, buildings, technologies 2) Many new improvements such as windmills, lumbermills, and quarries 3) Unique unit and building for every civilization 4) 'Great People' who give great benefits to your civilization 5) Religion plays a huge part in diplomacy and war 6) Instead of choosing democracy, monarchy, etc. you get to choose several different aspects of your government such as your government's views of religion, labor, and representation (or lack thereof) 7) Multiple leaders for nearly half of the many civilizations, each with unique abilities 8) WAY improved combat and graphics
There are quite a few other changes that I probably left out, but this game is definately worth getting for any strategy fan. Not to mention playing multiplayer is supposed to kick ass.

Wow. That's sounds awesome. I think I like number 6 the best. I might just have to get this game when I get the chance.

If you like strategy games, then there is a pretty cool open source (free) game called Battle for Wesnoth. It works on any platform (because it's open source), and it has a pretty large community. It is a turn-based strategy battle game. Check out wesnoth.org.

Thanks, Doan. That game is wicked fun for being free. I've already put a few hours into it.
I definately agree that any strategy fans should download and play this one.

Already beat two of the campaigns... too bad I don't know enough about programming yet to play around with the code.
I'm surprised this game is being shared, it's better than a lot of the highly publicized games I've played.

Not only is it being shared, it's open source. When the guy first wrote it, it had nowhere near the quality of art or richness of experience that it has now. Because it is open source, anyone who played the game and had artistic talent was able to contribute new material to add to the game. In short, the reason that it's so good is because there are literally dozens of people working on it constantly to make it better. And they are not making it for some group of consumers, they are making it primarily for themselves, so anything that goes in the game is something that they know from experience should be in there.
Anyways, I play on the multiplayer server as brandon, so if you see me on there, play a game with me.

Ah. I get it. I knew it was open source but I thought that the majority of the game was created with several people and they allowed others to mess around with it, not actually contribute to the version everyone could get. That's a really cool idea.
If you know of any other games like this I'm definately interested, and I'll definately share anything I find with anyone else who is interested.
