Well, I've seen KingSpoom and Cloud and others do this and I think it might help to motivate me to get something done, so I'll post in this topic once every week (I'll aim for Thursdays I guess, since today's Thursday) posting the progress I've made that week.
Well, this week was extremely progressive in RPGM2 for me, and I even surprised myself. I made all the Classes entirely with stats+abilities+pre-requisits and all the Abilities for all the classes including directeffects+indirecteffects+events+scripts.
I'll also use this to help me stay on track with what I need to do.
What I hope to make progress with this next week is (roughly in order): +make Extreme abilities +make direct effects for food items ___ +set what classes can equip what equipment items +make vfx and sfx for abilities +edit battle system to make attempted retreating consume a turn +edit battle formula to give 100% hit rate when target is effected with an Action Status +set-up and make Extreme System +add character-elemental bonus part into battle formula +add character-weapon bonus part into battle formula +add class-weapon bonus part into battle formula +work on townspeople +modify Holmstine to appear in Paladin instead of prequel +work on interiors and exteriors for Holmstine +make dream questions that assign Guardians for intro scene +organize where different enemies appear on paper +work on enemy models +work on enemy animations

I've succeeded in doing a lot this week. The main thing I'll want feedback on is how I plan to begin the game (which you'll see when you play the demo) and if you guys could write down how you answer the questions for me that'd be nice (you don't have to write the full response, just jot down 1/2/3/4 for the number of the response and tell me somewhere).

Basically, I've shown off what I did without any story given away and everything works perfectly now, so the next demo would be one with everything working and done (up to a point), but I'm hesitant to show the first x amount of time of my game because then it wouldn't be as cool when they play it again in the full game. I plan to make all the cities complete before making any dungeons, and make the private actions before making the dungeons or linear story.

As far as memory goes, the news is that there will be no side-quests till the one big one at the end. The huge cities, tons of class abilities, and private actions should remedy this. From what I've done with Topal I can tell my game is 'story-driven'. As far as memory goes with me, my first rule is always cut from VFX first, so if anything isn't that good in my game it will likely be VFX. That should come as no surprise though.

Hopefully I'll gradually regain my skill. If there are private actions (I hope so), they will not be cinematic like the story cutscenes, but rather more-or-less just Nick and the other character(s) talking (with Effects: Look, Effects: Single Action, Effects: Motion Change, and turning around of course though). As far as cutscenes go, the next demo should blow everyone away. They're not actionous like RPGProgrammer's, but they are cinematic, entertaining, and suck the player in.

Well, the last week or so I've been taking a break from RPGM2 to play Ogre Battle: Person of Lordly Calibur, Final Fantasy X, and Arc the Lad I. All are really good!!! Any ways, the week before I made good progress, but still mostly on one thing (1st dungeon). (last 2 weeks) What I've done: +Made 3/5 of Topal and Rillia's masters +Organized what I need to make for party/enemy VFX, enemy abilities, and enemy actions +Finished Map Editor portion of whole 1 st dungeon +Finished most of events (not cutscenes) of whole 1st dungeon +Made the map for Bizenta Harbor What I hope to do: +Edit battle formula to give 100% hit rate when target is affected with an Action Status +Make the 4 guts associated battle happenings +Finish Topal and Rillia's masters +Work on World Map +Work on Enemy Actions/VFX +Work on VFX/SFX for party abilities +Work on Enemy Models +Finish up last bit of Items +Work on Character Battle Dialogues +Finish events for 1st dungeon +Do object placement for 1st dungeon +Edit so that all party members are revived and given one HP at end of battle +Make full heal for all members script for inn/game over/heal point scripts +Make Bizenta Harbor and its cutscene Lastly, would you guys prefer I release the demo with everything I said except for the completed world map or wait till I'm done with the world map? (If I released it quickly the four locations would just be squished next to each other on an incomplete world map)

im glad you liked arc the lad and polc. both were good games to me. however, i wasnt much of a fan of ffx.

Yeah, I quit toward the end because I know about the final boss and how I'd have to get some ultimate weapons to beat him. One thing I noticed this time around is that the difficulty's perfect for players that charge right through the game and don't fight much. The replay value's low though, so I don't think I'll play it again for a really long time (or never). I loved Arc the Lad and polc though!! I'm playing Arc the Lad 2 now too, and it's really good! Yay! ;D Any ways, the next demo's getting closer and closer. I expect it to be ready in a few more weeks.

It's 3 victories to learn an ability, and 15 to master a class; I assume the player wins about 18 battles per dungeon. The next demo is about a month away, and it should blow the last one to smitharines.

Well, I got the demo finished and put it up and what not. I've now got -all- the set-up done and all I have to do now is make the actual playable stuff, and thus my list of things to do will be much shorter this time.
What I've done:
+Make Abilities for enemies +Finish Topal and Rillia's masters +Work on VFX/SFX for party and enemy Abilities +Finish up last bit of Items +Make Enemies of 1st dungeon +Make Units of 1st dungeon +Improve and fix everything +Finished 1st dungeon completely +Finished next place and its cutscenes completely +Made some alterations based on comments from people who played the latest demo
What I will do next:
+Wait a week or so and come back and watch the cutscenes of that next place and improve them +Make Map for 2nd dungeon +Make scripts/events/event placements for 2nd dungeon +Make enemy actions for 2nd dungeon +Make enemies for 2nd dungeon +Make units for 2nd dungeon +Test play for difficulty and potential-glitches of 2nd dungeon +Make cutscene for 2nd dungeon ------------ +Work on VFX/SFX for party and enemy abilities +Work on world map
