(this week, at least if I can get it uploaded with my x-port) ***Newest Demo can be found here: www.pavilionboards.com/forum/showthread.php?t=567 *** The New Demo Compared to the Last One: Jimmy Eat World Cutscene removed (though scripts and events are still in the database). World Map (the Holmstine area) has been incredibly renovated and enhanced. All 9 (yes, now 9 as opposed to 7) songs have also been incredibly enhanced and improved drastically. Volume of EVERYTHING has been adjusted to the correct volumes (to match with the music and for the musics to match each other). Music will be chosen from a menu command (square menu) and heard from an action script as you walk around the world map. The treasure chest problem will be fixed. The skeletons keeping attacking problem will be fixed. __________________________________ What I still need to do: fix treasure chest problem new set-up for choosing and playing the music uploading the demo __________________________________ I've decided to keep the seven songs others than Phantom Manor and Woof Woof Song. If anyone would like to use those songs in their game send me a private message. Do not worry, the scripts for both have been completely remade to be as concise, easy to make/understand/edit/add-on, and memory efficient as possible (in other words total each is more like 100-150 lines of code instead of 1000-1500). __________________________________ For the volume, because of the SFX limitation of "volume" being "100", everything in my game is quieter than TV/movies/games/RPGM2/yourRPGM2games/etc. For me with my TV volume, I usually use 7-10 volume for other stuff and for my game I use 16-18, so after loading my game (getting past the RPGM2 title screen is what I mean) adjust your volume up higher to a little over 2 times the normal amount. __________________________________ Lastly, feedback will be gladly appreciated and very nice. (I'll be playing lots of others' RPGM2 games)

Yeah in the last one I was kinda pissed when to listen to your music I had to sit and listen through the whole song and not do anything but sit and wait. But this sounds like it will be good.

I got the music set up, and it's quite nice!! ;D
I'll put the demo up later today/tonight or tomorrow (if I succeed at putting it up at least), and I may or may not fix the treasure chest thing by then (we'll see).

I've been working on a new song (pretty much done, have to give myself some time away from it before judging it) and some little chime melodies (now 5 instead of 2), so I'll be uploading a newer demo that's the same but with that added in very soon. Otherwise it's the same as the latest demo I sent to Ves, so I'd say don't bother with it unless you haven't played the newest one.

Update:
I've finished a newer demo. I'll be uploading it and sending it to Ves very soon (probably tomorrow). Changes are as follows:
Minor volume adjustments to A Gay Ol' Time and Happyville.
A new song I've made (short, verse/chorus). It's fate is still undecided.
5 short tunes that I may or may not use. These tunes can be used by anyone, and would be great for orcarina tunes in Zelda-like games. I'll be posting up more information on how to do this soon (including the exact scripts).
Indirect effects fixed up a little. Now the Guardian Abilities/Indirect Effects are there.
It's only a very minor improvement over the other new one (the one I uploaded about a week ago).

Okay, I've got the exact scripts. It'll take a few posts to get them all up. To begin, if you're going to use these for Orcarina songs (like in Zelda games) you'll have to script buttons to play these pitches: -10, -8, -7, -5, -3, -1, 0, 2, 4. That's 9 buttons total: like X, [], /_\, O, R1, L1, R2, L2, and a 9th. I recommend you make the ninth be L3 or R3 so that you can have R3 or L3 open for another pitch if you need it. If your script is an action script you'll have to disable the default camera movements (there's a script command for this but I forget it). Also, note that you may shift ALL (meaning ALL, or else you'll have less overlapping pitches and need more orcarina buttons, and ALL as in you can customize them however you'd like if you're using them for other things) these tunes' octaves. An octave is (as far as I know) basically all the pitches in the whole song/tune. For say, if you had a tune that went P-12, P-5, P-8; moving that tune's octave up one would make the pitches for the sounds go to P-11, P-4, P-7. You may shift them however you like (but I've put them into the octaves I think are best already). Here's what the first few pitches are to each tune. If you were making them Orcarina songs for a Zelda game you would want to make the player 'play' these notes (pitch values) on the orcarina to innitiate the song. (with Tune A I can't decide out of the two octaves, so you choose, both overlap all their notes with the other tunes) (listen to the tunes to see what parts of the songs the player will be 'playing') Tune A (Version 1) = -5, -10, -8, -5, -10, -8 (first 6 notes) Tune A (Version 2) = 2, -3, -1, 2, -3, -1 (first 6 notes) Tune B = -8, -7, -5, 0, -1, -3 (first 6 notes) Tune C = -8, -5, -3, 0, 2, 0, -3 (first 7 notes) Tune D = -5, 0, 4, 0, -5, 0, 4 (first 7 notes) Tune E = 0, -3, -8, -8, 0, -3, -10, -5 (first 8 notes) Lastly, if you use these, of course, put me in your credits.

P = Pitch, this number is the pitch value of the sound W = Wait, this number is the frames 'Wait'ed in between each sound For tempo, I used 100 for all, but I notced the notes bleed together so I recommend about 150-175. However, I used the 'Harp' sound effect, and for every sound effect the tempo values have different meanings. Test around what you'd like with the first one you make to find the right sound effect for you. Volume is also up to you. * (or **) means this section repeats, so you may be able to save memory by making it in a different script and calling it, if you don't care that much about the memory just ignore these
Tune A (Version 1)___ W 8* P -5* W 8* P -10* W 8* P -8* W 16* P-5* W 8* P -10* W 8* P -8* W 16* P -5* W 8* P -10* W 8* P -8* W 8* P -7* W 8* P -8* W 8* P -10* W 8* P -8 W 8 W 8* P -5* W 8* P -10* W 8* P -8* W 16* P-5* W 8* P -10* W 8* P -8* W 16* P -5* W 8* P -10* W 8* P -8* W 8* P -7* W 8* P -8* W 8* P -10* W 8* P -12 W 8
Tune A (Version 2)___ same as Version 1, but every P is +7 higher (so -5 to 2 and -10 to -3)

I made a new tune, Tune F. I'll upload a new demo with it soon, but for now I've written down the scripts for it: Tune F___ Notes played by player: -12, -5, 0, 4, 2, 0 Note: That -12 is a new one, so now the player needs to be able to play -12, -10, -8, -7, -5, -3, -1, 0, 2, and 4, which is a total of 10 buttons, which I'd recommend X, /_\, [], O, L1, R1, L2, R2, L3, and R3 - with start to quit playing and select for a list of available songs or something. So, same set up as before... part x- P -12 W 8 P -5 W 8 P 0 W 8 P 4 W 16 P 2 W 8 P 0 W 16 part y- P-10 W 8 P -7 W 8 P 0 W 8 P 2 W 16 P 5 W 8 P 4 W 16 part z- P -10 W 8 P -7 W 8 P 0 W 8 P -7 W 8 P -12 W 8 P -5 W 8 P 4 W 8 P 0 W 8 part w- P -10 W 8 P -7 W 8 P 0 W 8 P -7 W 8 P -12 W 8 P -5 W 8 P 0 W 16 Main- part x part y part x part z part x part y part x part w Main for shortened version- part x part y part x part w
