I've been playing with banners. Here's the one I chose to start with: Here are the runners up: Inverting the colors just gives more choices. I still need to get one for MOO! and one for Fluffy Kine. I even want to make one that just says The Looney Bin and use Bugs Bunny images. I'm content to leave my avatar and signature alone... but I may play with this graphic from time to time. Don't be surprised. Or worry... I'll behave. Peace.

Boy, those are some pretty colorful banners If there was any doubt about you being a hippy before, there is none now - at least in my mind. Hulk! Hulk!

You should take the Katamari Cow and put it on your "moo" banner. Also you should get AIM or MSN. You'ld be like one of the funnest people to talk to online! Seriously think about it. I can make ya a banner too if ya want? I've did it for many other people.

Thanks, all.
I fancy myself an artist (I wanted to be one... but had to settle for Chemist because I was good at it and it came easily, while my art abilities are questionable and not as easy to "prove" that I'm any good) (Hey, I needed a career) (I do like Chemistry too or I would not have pursued it!) (but I digress...).
The banners were all done in MSPaint, just to show all those Photoshop Fans. But I started on this line to say Thanks, Nash, but I enjoy making these and will try to surprise myself with the next lot.
The Instant Messenger things are something I really don't want. I even removed the core messenger from my computer and caused all kinds of trouble.
I'm usually doing three or four things at once when online, and adding more is just not productive.
Believe it or not, I rarely even check my email. It's just not part of my routine.
Maybe someday if I ever get it down to doing just one or two things at a time...
Peace.

My girlfriend got quarantined from her college internet connection due to a virus. She didn't understand why she got one since she has a firewall and an antivirus program, so she called the university's help desk.
Turns out someone had a virus link in their AIM profile and she happened to click on it. Lately it's been a bit of a fad to create AIM-linked viruses which send a message to everyone on your buddy list with something like "Check out my new pics online" and it links to what is actually a virus. Other versions of this virus do something similar but place this link in your AIM profile. So that's another good reason to not have a messenger program on your computer.
But yeah, I'm getting off-topic now, so I will end my message by applauding your use of MSPaint to make your banner. Nice work!

And that is why I removed the messenger stuff.
That and the ads.
And don't worry about going off topic in a thread like this... really, how much can you say about Bruce Banner?
Peace.

I doubt you are breaking any rules. It is a free site and you do not own it, so it is not the kind of promotion which causes concern. I like working offline, so stick to things like freeware and cheapo-ware! I Love MS Paint and have been using it for so long I can not get used to the controls in the new software!! I want to make the background transparent in the animated banner, but I have so many colors already that it's tough to single one out for the effect! Eventually... Thanks for the comment and the link!

I want to make the background transparent in the animated banner, but I have so many colors already that it's tough to single one out for the effect rodak, this has been bugging me for just about forever... how do you make a transparent background in MSPaint? i've attempted making a lot of stuff (mostly recently concerning XP) and every time i export i get that damn white background that screws everything up... sorry if this is off-topic, but since you mentioned that i had to ask, since i've been trying to figure out how to do that for a while. -the smurf

You Don't set transparency in MS Paint.
Transparency is set in the gif animator!
You select a color from the palette and designate it transparent.
In the above banner there is a lot of white in the image as well as from where the fancy editor twisted some of the frames of the image. So if I set White transparent, it ruins much of the image.
The "Bucket Fill" Tool bleeds through the cracks in the twists and fills the banner as well as the background.
I need to plug the cracks and then I can try to find a color not used in the image (HA! That's a laugh...), fill the background, and tell the animator to make that color transparent!
Have Fun!
Peace.
