I got a 256 MB USB drive that's compatible with the PS2 for $10! Now I can transfer saves to the interweb, yay.
Bad news? I'm going to New Jersey in a few days, and won't be back until September. The anything goes contest submissions at the pavilion end on September 18th so hopefully I'll be able to finish the game before then.
I'd like to accept suggestions from you guys about the game. I'm stumped on a few things(what the names of some characters should be, magic spell names, etc.), and like to get rolling on the game in full speed without any speed bumps before I leave.

My condolences on your going to New Jersey.
What sorts of names are you looking for?
Try reading any Douglas Adams Sci-Fi stuff. The names he comes up with are truly inspirational!!
Do you want silly or serious sounding stuff? I can't be of much help with the serious stuff (it never made any sense to me) but if you want silliness, I can help.
Peace.

I'm seeing an old friend there, so I should have some decent fun since he's 19 and I'm 21(I wish he was 21, so we can go to the bars and clubs ). Specifically, I'm looking for these types of names: -Villains(humorous names will suffice, but serious ones are welcome) -A black guy(not particularly, but one main character is of a shaman tribe) -Spell names(for fire, water, thunder and earth spells) -Weapons(I have swords, fighting gloves, and crossbows;cool or crazy sounding, preferably within 10 characters) -Healing items(the usual;HP/MP restore, status effect cures) I'm just fresh out of ideas right now, plus I think my credits could use some names(since it'll only have like, 3 lol). Also, any suggestions about the game based on the demo would be great.

Some of these have been used before, but...
Some Villains: The Tough Cookie The Rotten Apple Digitalis (for an electricity/thunder villain)
A Shaman Tribesman: Big Chief... (just prefixing any name with that is funny) Running Way James T. Kirk
Spells: Fire; Incinerate Immolate Cremate
Water: Drench Inundate Drown Flood
Thunder: Shock Value Short Circuit Zap
Earth Dirt Mud (Mudslide?) Pangaea Gaea
Weapons: Swords Damocles (dangerous to use) Pig Sticker Pointed Stick 10 Foot Pole (12 characters, but cliche)
Gloves: Battle Mittens (Again, over character limit) Cross Bows: Ummm... maybe next time
Healing Stuff: Beer Band Aid Viagra (MP Boost?) That's just a quick list. If I get any thoughts for worthy additions, I'll add them.
Peace.

William is right!!
The word of the day is Serendipity.
OK, I was sitting at my desk at work, drinking my coffee and waiting for work to start (I always get here early). I did not bring my book today (oops!) so I picked up the dictionary (Gadzooks! I'm such a geek) and opened it up. It landed on the page with pictures of 20 different Heraldic Crosses.
A lot of these looked like they would be perfect for crossbow variations and easily created in the VFX editor.
Some with great names and cool appearances were: The Fourchee (each arm forked, maybe shoot 2 bolts?) The Botonee (a cluster of balls at the end of each arm) The Avellan (Filberts on ends {those're the things on Queens heads in cheap plastic chess sets) The Tau Cross(bow) (A stylized T shape)
Some ones that looked great, but had crappy names, were: The Lorraine Cross(bow) (A cross piece at bottom as well as top) The Fleury (Flowery ends)
Some that looked crappy but had cool names were: The Quadrate Cross(bow) The Potent Cross(bow)
I've never seen anyone work real Heraldry references in to a game before. A little research can make your effort unique! Heraldry was, after all, a very important part of historic "Heroes" lives.
Just a thought.
Peace.

i never come up with actual names for my weapons (i do Iron Sword, Bronze Sword, etc) but spell names are always fun:
Fire:
Hell Pyre Raging Inferno Satanic Circle Obliteration
Water:
Tsunami Neptune's (or Poseidon) Wrath Bubble Jet Geyser
Thunder:
Indignation (all credit to Tales of Symphonia) Circuit Wave Zeus's Rage ...uh, Thunder is very difficult
Earth:
Faultline Armageddon Landslide ...and then there's the cliched "Earthquake"
you can also go to freedict.com
they have online dictionaries for a bunch of languages, and you can type in words and stuff, combine pieces of words from other languages and make some really interesting names (for characters, spells, anything)
hope that helps.

Huh? Oh, I was just trying to be helpful; that's how I came up with my names. And that's why I thanked ya, those links were helpful. And thank you to everyone else. I was already combining different languages and stuff when I thought of spell names, but I didn't want people to be totally confused so I just used the first 3-4 letters of a foreign language, and then just slap on a word that sounded cool. A great example of this- A thunder spell, Orag-enta(language derived on the left, cool word on the right). I'll be making use of the suggestions here as well, and now my credits have more than 3 lines in it. Thanks again guys. ;D
