I was thinking of making VFX boss monsters so i can use them in scenes and make the bosses look how i want them too (or the closest i can get to how they should look).
But i want your opinions because i want to know if you think it's a good idea and if it's going to look bad compared to the other enemys who are going to be from the enemy database, some with modified colors.
as for the options one and two are self explanitory. option three all VFX enemys or no VFX enemys means either i use VFX for all the enemys or i stick with the already made monster models, just alter colours and sizes.
(this feature might not apear in artifact, it might appear in a later title)

Well coming from someone(me) who's use of VFX characters, party members, and enemies, will be very high, I say go for it. But remember, the use of VFX kills memory.I've actually had to restart my game over(last year)because I had too many VFX characters and the scripts, and events for using them drained the memory before I could make it through 25% of my game.
So personally I've decided to make my game on 2 separate memory cards, meaning episode 1 and 2..
All this aside, I think the originality of VFX enemies is a great idea..And unlike the preset models, you can add a VFX enemy to your party after he's been defeated..
So I say go for it. It would really make your game stand out..

Yeah, I think VFX boss enemies would be a great feature. It seems to imply that it is okay if standard enemies are ones which have been seen before (in others' games), but boss enemies will be completely unique. I do not think this is a bad implication whatsoever.
I didn't think of it until DarkHorizons said it, but the fact that you can add VFX bosses to your party after their defeat is a huge bonus.
My only suggestion is that you not restrict yourself to strictly VFX bosses. If there is a cool-looking enemy that you want to use as a boss, I say go for it, and perhaps add a few VFX to it in order to make it look unique. This may be a quicker, easier solution than creating only VFX bosses, but the downside, of course, is that you couldn't use them as party members.

Yup, VFX creations can be used anywhere in the game!
I look forward to some new designs. The elements given can be a challenge to use for this purpose.
Good Luck with it.
Peace.

I'm aware of the memory usage of VFX characters and enemys thats why i was planning on only using VFX bosses. My current side project (details in another topic) has only a few bosses so i thought i would try it in that game and see if it worked. Being just a practise game really it wouldnt matter all that much if it was a failure.
i was looking at the enemy models and, well there aren't many that i would want to use for the bosses in either my practice or my actual game, atleast without using VFX to add something to them.
