Ok, well so far you guys have been really REALLY helpful to me, and every time you guys answer one of my questions, i learn a bit about rpgm2 that i didnt know before and its helping me to ween me off the site so i can figure things out by myself. any who, this time i got a few minor problems that i need to see if they can be fixed. I can safely say i can pretty much figure out all the base parts of rpgm2 now outside of battle. the events-scripts-event placement stuff is pretty simple to me now.
now these problems aren't necessary to fix in order for me to continue making the game, but they could prove me more professional if i can fix them and the player wont glitch up as much.
problem 1: is there a way to make the players character model have like different colors on each arm? I'm not talking anything complicated, i just mean like if i want his right arm to be gray (if he was supposedly wearing a single gray glove) and the other arm is a bare skin color. I doubt theres a way to do this but just thought i'd ask. if there is a way id appreciate an answer ^^.
problem 2: (this one baffles me) After creating the players "bedroom" in dungeon creator everything was working fine and everything the cutscene went smoothly and all events were put in there without issue. There is a slight problem though but its hardly even noticable. (mainly because its invisible.)
ok well i got a bed object against the wall (only the head board is against the wall the rest is a space away so it doesnt phase through the wood.) and two spaces to the left of the beds pillow is a dresser drawer event object against the wall. (just to give you an idea as to what this looks like) ok so heres the issue, you can walk around the bed and stuff, everything works great there, but then if you try to walk one space due south of the beds bottom board you run into collision. theres no object there at all, it just seems like there is.
- i checked dungeon editor and deleted a big chunk of flooring around, and including it, then recreated the flooring over again just incase there was a transparent block in my way. no such luck.
-then i went into object placement and made sure there was nothing there by deleting that area. nothing was there.
-then i went to event placement to see if there was some kind of event block that was invisible that i might have forgotten to delete and just to be safe i highlighted some distance around it and hit delete just incase i couldnt see it.
i went back to test it and the collision is still there.
1-whats causing the problem? the bed? or something else?
2-is there a way to fix it? and how? all your doing is walking in the room and that one spot acts like some kind of wall.
heres a picture to help you get a better idea:
problem 3: there are 3 events in the room that you must activate in a certain order by examining them. they all work fine and all right now but i was wondering if theres a more memory efficient way of making it so that the regular message shows up "found nothing" if they're not checking the correct event. I got it to do that but only by a conditional flag if statement.
usually when theres no event that "found nothing" dialog box appears from one of the default scripts (error messages i think its called)
my conditional statement works, but i dont see the point in recreating whats already there for me, and i was wondering if there was a way to save memory in my script by just using the one they provided for me instead if they dont check the correct event.
problem 4: is there a more memory efficient way to move a player from floor to floor other than making an event with a staircase model and having them touch it to activate a warp script to another map?.
again i would appreciate only the most simple step by stepish explanations if at all possible. thank you in advance^^.
