[white]I've been trying to get the DBS working for the past few days and I can't seem to do so. I started in [HARD] mode, so imported all the scripts I needed from the normal mode manually. So far, I've completed the following scripts: All the ones from Game >Game Settings > Adv > Battle 1 - Battle Enter
- Battle Opening
- Battle Start
- Ambush
- Flee Check
All the ones from Game > Game Settings > Adv > Battle 2 - Party Flee
- Enemy Flee
- Party Defeated
- Enemy Defeated
- Battle Success
- Battle Fade
- Battle Exit
For Offensive Direct Effect - Normal Attack
- Attack Start
- Attack Counter
- Battle Formula
- Attack Success
- Attack Critical
- Attack Failure
- Attack Dodge
For Defensive Direct Effect For Members - Member Start
- Battle Victory
- Normal Damage
- Critical
- Recovery
- Custom
- Dodge
For Enemies - Enemy Appear
- Enemy Death
- Normal Damage
- Critical
- Recovery
- Custom
- Dodge
And the scripts these depend on - Reduce HP
- Current Side
- Current Name
- Instigator Name
- Target Name
- HP Ratio
- HP Ration Check
- Plus dozens of others that are needed for battle, but aren't directly referenced by the above scripts.
I've removed all numb references and sample data related scripts. I'm not exactly a newb anymore. Are there other system scripts I'm missing? I keep trying to do a battle test from the unit editor, but it just loads the player into the map, the battle never begins. I've triple checked my scripts and can't find any errors. Help me out here please. Let me know if you need more info to diagnose my issue.[/white]

Check it against Dungeon Warden's Advanced FAQ. It lists all that stuff. If you can post the file, it may help. Sometimes it's just a setting, and not a missing script. Did you try actual play, as opposed to test play or unit editor, just to see what happens? I have no idea why I asked that, but it sounded like something I'd try, so I blurted it. Good Luck with it. Peace .

I'm sorry, but I don't know any important ones that are missing. I know DW did his with Trait scripts, but I also know from my experience that you don't need Trait scripts to use the DBS's Default Menu System. I've always just done Beg or Nrm than deleted pooploads of useless stuff (not so much on Nrm as Beg). Perhaps, do you have working Direct Effects plus Normal Attack/Defend/Ability(ies) made? Others than that, I'm totally stumped.

One thing my FAQ doesn't cover is where all those scripts (and related system events) go. I planned to get around to that someday (thus the reason my FAQ is version 0.8 It wouldn't be finished until I cover what all these scripts do and where they go.
If the battle is not even starting, it may be because the enemy was not set up properly. Are all the settings correct?
One thing you don't list is weapons. Did you set up a normal weapon attack?
Really, if you're going to use the default Battle system, start on normal. It's easier to delete scripts you don't use then to try to get the battle system working. The battle system is split between game settings, character settings, enemy settings, and equipment (especially weapons). If anything is out of place, the whole thing won't work. You'll need to dig down to the roots and follow the links into the branches. One of the reasons I haven't finished the FAQ is because this is a huge undertaking.
On the plus side, you'll know the ins and outs of the DBS by the time your finished. I've learned a lot digging around the preset data. I wish you luck.

[white]Guess I'll just have to go over the scripts once again, I must have missed something.[/white]
