I am in the process of creating a semi-elaborate cutscene for the beginning of my game. I've run into an issue.
Naturally, I have made my lead character 100% transparent, making him invisible so I can move and position the camera without the main character obstructing view or being in the wrong place.
I want to do a camera cut from one place in the area to another, so I use the Members>movment>location change (0 frames per step) script command, thinking that would successfully move the camera instantly from one place to another.
This is not the case, the camera does a sort of 'rapid transit', quick fly towards the new location and it is rather ugly.
Has anyone come up with an alternate method of cutting from one place to another without any odd camera side-effects?

Instead of moving the party, use the Warp command to instantly teleport to the specified location. You could also set the screen color to black to hide the movement, but this shouldn't be necessary with Warp.

I read this yesterday and thought of another technique that may work: the Camera: Horizontal Angle command. (Screen Effects>Camera>Horizontal Angle). gl

Warp is kind of bad, as the treatment for a cutscene is probably occuring in an enter map script. It would mean making new branches and flags every time. If your not moving to another map location move or Horizontal angle is preferable.
Location move is affected by a little thing called speed. Try normal or half instead of 8x next time.

I would say fade out the screen for a second or two by setting a color from a high transparency to 0%. Like, 10% each time you change it or whatever. Then Vise Versa after done.
