Thanks Will, your post really helps.
I'm glad someone notices.
"The flee formula let me run 100% of the time. While this would normally be a bad thing, I liked it because on the map and the volcano there was only one unit in each of them, and the enemies seemed to mostly only do normal attacks. This is also compounded by only having one normal battle music. I like what you've done the enemy models so far though."
I modified the run script becuase I thought the defualt was unfair, and people don't like being hammered on by the enemy and they can't run, I know I don't.
The enemy models get a little benifit from the cel shade.
I only used one unit of enemies for that section of the map becuase of leveling concerns and balance.
I'm glad you didn't think the enemies were too hard.
"I really like your selection of BGM for random battles, but it would be better if there were more than just one song. I believe someone posted how to do this in the Common Script Database topic."
Oh, there's more than one, but they change the farther you get in the game, you know, to mix it up a little.
"Please put a nicer song on the map. The map music should be peaceful and relaxing."
I'm actually surprised at that. I will take this into notice, the world map music will be changed. I was aiming for a deep tone for this map.
"Story's good, and well told. The camera's often still during cutscenes, but the dialogue's very good and makes up for it. The animations you do on the characters during them helps too."
This right here is the best one. I've worked very hard to make the story enjoyable and unique as possible.
About the dialogue, I've always thought it was never good enough to show the feelings and personality of the characters. So, I've kept on rewriting and editing dialogue between the characters.
Thank you for checking out my demo, this means a lot to me. Thank you.
