I want to know more recent stuff about your characters and such, party member or not, main or not. I'm curious, and now that you've had much time I'll bet you've come up with some new stuff since the last time you talked about your other characters (and I know Al Borland isn't one of them ). And here and now's the perfect time to post some stuff and ask what people think. The guest book was fine until some people (*cough**cough*) posted too much annoying stuff, so the message board's a good upgrade. I do however find that most message boards of single RPGMer's die, but who knows since you've become super popular among pros and newbies alike.

Unfortunately, I don't explicitly have a character list created yet. I'm working on it now and then, but it will probably be something that you won't see for quite some time. See Ves's edit: the post in the suggestion forum called 'character bio' for more details.
Sorry for the disappointment,
Doan the Nado
edit by ves: your link didnt work, so i took it down. for some reason, the link script for the boards doesnt work. i tried to fix it (by adjusting your http) and it still said nonexistant. your right, i should fix this this weekend.

It seems were both intreseted in Doans game eh william? I geuss its natural if you can really think about what his game would be like if it were sold in stores. I believe he's trying to make a game like FABLE for X-box... that would be soooo cool!!

The way I did and posted (on my site linked below) my characters is this... Originally, my characters were more flat and simple (could be easily summarized into little phrases like "A guy who likes hot chicks" and "A guy who likes food a lot"), but after making a private action where one character explains their past and why they are the way the are (opens up to Nick) (then doing something like this with every character), my characters tend to first seem simple in the game, then get depth and understanding later (if certain private actions are done and what not). In other words, my characters seem one way when you first meet them, but different when you really get to know them. Therefore, when I post the summaries of my characters, I really only tell what you first learn of them in the game (not really spoiling). I also don't tell how they get introduced into the story (except for Kylie and William, which are included in the intro story and get the main story going for Nick (the main character)). I know you haven't spent much time developing your characters yet, but it may get you thinking to type up (I usually do it in Word and then put it to the site to make sure I want it up there) some basic info about your characters, thinking of why they are the way they are (depth and understanding -> realism -> easier to relate to characters) and where else you can take each character in their personal story. Also, just simply don't post that many characters on the site (I only posted the first 7 out of 15, which all join in the first 1/4 of the game). Also, I have two characters that are alternates of each other (player gets one or the other but not both) posted on my site, but no one knows (which'll make it fun to see people's reaction to knowing a little about a character thye didn't get, which it seems like your game will have some things like this too). I also realized after a little bit it's good not to put any minor characters (in the intro story's fine) on the site because usually there's not really much to say about them. This also gets people more interested in the game's story side. Hope this helps in some way. williampaladin.tripod.com(wasn't sure which topic to post this in)

That's a good suggestion, William, and I'll likely place a character bio like what you described on my website. Not right away, though, as I am first and foremost trying to get this board up and running (with vespuleth's help) and then moving on to my game's CBS. After that stuff is done, I'll work on coming up with a definite character list for my game.
Thanks for changing my mind,
Doan the Nado

i would like to expand on williams idea a little. what william said to do was basically a 'dramatis personae'. i was thinking that for your game, doing it based on relationship to the main character would be easiest. from their you could build a full fledged character description. but it would be a good idea to just get a CoC out there, w/ a little tidbit of info (paul=main characters dad, Roger= king of Narnia... blah blah, you get the idea, right?)
a way to do this (this is a webpage suggestion) is to link to your dramatis personae on your main page, and each name could be a link to a personal indepth description of the appropriate character, maybe w/ fanart or screenshots. just a thought.

I think I understand that... Yeah Doan, since your doing the whole relationship thing this might be a good shot! I can't wait to see what you concoct in that brain of yours... I really understand that you have your hands full with things.. Shoot, I couldn't do what you do.. mainly cuz i'm only 12 and am not nearly as smart aas you and Ves , but second stress.... I won't get into all that stuff because then you'll say " This belongs in EVERYTHING ELSE" ;D but just keep us posted...

Just watching one of your vids Doan. Noticed you named a guy Tool Time Al, hehe. He does look a little more like Osama Bin Laden than Al though.

Those people in my dungeon's basement are just test characters for testing my CMS. They will not be in the actual game at all. I just had to create like 8 different people at once so I just quickly put down whatever name came to mind.
My game will be a bit more serious than that. No references to today's world except maybe a little surprise...
Thanks for checking out my videos,

That's what I suspected. But amusing nonetheless.

Glad I could make you smile.... Let's just hope I can entertain you even more when I actually finish this game.
