As some may know, my current project is a survival horror called Sin. Here is the basic story: "It has been 15 years since the tragic Blackview Church fire and the scars have yet to heal. Out of the hundred that entered the building.... only 5 were found alive. The mystery of the fire has never been solved. Now only to be remember by the survivors. I lost everything that day, my dearest friends and the last true joy in my life, my only daughter Maria. She suffered the most cruel of deaths, right before my very eyes. There was nothing I could do to save her.... I clawed through the flames and debris in a desperate attempt to save her. All was in vain! As I was ready to accept my cruel fate, one of the survivors, Officer Nightshade pulled me out against my will. I have no reason left to live... Maria lost her life while I only lost my eye from the falling debris. Fate isn't fair in the least. My failure as a father and a man needs no sympathy. Punishment for my failure is solitude. I have lived alone ever since wallowing in my guilt. However, this has been taxing on the mind, now I'm starting to see things that aren't even ing there! My only hopes lie with a ghost child which promises to help me with my last wish, to find out what was the reason for that atrocity that took my daughter's life. Please don't let this child be another illusion. But if he isn't, can I really trust him? What does he have to gain?" I'm curious as to what the good people of the domain think of it so far. I'll get into more details about the game later.

Sounds good so far, but does the "I" have a spouse? I assume so being that "I" is a church goer with a daughter... if so you may want to change that to include her death. Otherwise sounds good.

He's divorced and had custody of Maria. That's one of the details I was going to get into later.

Wow, that is a great story. I've never heard anything like it, so to me it sounds great. I like the whole mystery/horror aspect of it, and I think if you use it correctly, you can create some good action and suspense.

Hmm, sounds awesome. It looks like you spent a lot of time trying to think up that story. It makes me wonder what the game will be like. Im guessing it will be Turn based? It would be awesome if you could make that into a first person shooter, but that would be really tough.

Hmm, sounds awesome. It looks like you spent a lot of time trying to think up that story. It makes me wonder what the game will be like. Im guessing it will be Turn based? It would be awesome if you could make that into a first person shooter, but that would be really tough. Yeah, I've been doing alot of work on the story. I was wanting to go with something different, but somewhat familiar. Something that could be well understood by the players, mainly the reason for the main character's troubles. There is nothing more painful than to witness the death of your own child. That alone can be enough to scar the mind. The main theme of the game is a blend of the psychological and supernatural. As the tortured protagonist continues his search it sometimes becomes difficult for him to tell if what he is seeing is real or all in his head. As for combat I will be using Nash's 3rd ACBS. After I get more of an understanding on scripting I'll try to customize it. Funny thing is I actually did consider going first person, but it wouldn't fit in with everything else. It just seemed to make things out of place. Here's some info on the characters. The main character is suppose to be named by the player so he will be referred to as The Hero. CharactersThe Hero Age: 47 Info: He is one of the few survivors of the Blackview church fire. Luckily, his injuries weren't life threatening, but his left eye was severely injured. The same can't be said for his loving daughter, Maria, who was burned beyond recognition. 15 years have passed since that day, but the emotional scars have never healed. His mind has degenerated gradually over the years, with little hope of returning to normal. The only hope for him now is the promise of a ghost child. This child will lend him his strength while trying to solve the mystery of the fire. The question is how much time is left before his mind is completely lost. Maria Age: 10 (before death) Info: She was a very energetic girl with a short attention span. Maria, happened to be a bit of a tomboy and despised girly things. The hero gained custody over her after his divorce. She was his only true joy in life... Jameston Huffield Age: 30 Info: Jameston was only 15 years old the day of the fire. He left the rest room only to meet a wall of fire. His burns covered his entire body and he nearly didn't make it. Later on he began to despise others for their "perfect skin." After years of being ridiculed he finally snapped. Now he is serial killer, believed to have killed over 200 people. Jameston doesn't just kill his victims, he skins them alive. Daniel Nightshade Age: Appears to be in 40's Info: After the events of 15 years ago, Daniel's actions have been strange as of late and seems to have connections with a cult. Rumor has it that he intents to revive his dead family... but the dead can't come back to life.... can they? The Child Age: Unknown Info: This is the ghost child promising to help the hero. Reason for this is unknown, but he does have some perks. With his abilities reloading weapons aren't necessary and he can heal all wounds. The question is, can he be trusted?

Wow, that's all I can say. This is shaping up to be a very intriguing story, better than a lot of the thriller/horror movies I've seen of late. Keep it up! Maybe even consider writing up a script... who knows, it could be movie material.

Thank you very much, Doan. It is quite an honor. I'll try my best not to let you down. Here are some of the weapons in the game. Doesn't have much to do with the story, but it would be hard to fight off spooks without them. Maria- A small handgun named after his late daughter. This weapon doesn't pack much of a punch, but it does have good range. Shotgun- This is a shotgun made specifically for hunting. Vice President's weapon of choice. HK5- A submachine gun used in the military. You get more shots in on your enemy, with the cost of more ammo. Soul Banisher- a plasma cannon from an unknown origin. Has few drawbacks other than ammo being hard to find. Swarmer- Missile launcher which can shoot multiple missiles at a time. This weapon is very powerful, but has very poor range. Flamethrower- Can heat up any party. The only weapon that can hurt succubus. Proton Pack- Weapon specifically made for hunting ghosts. This weapon must be unlocked to use. Decapitator- A small saw for cutting off heads. Why the would someone make a weapon like that? ARM- This is a high powered, armor piercing rifle. Has great power and range... probably the most balanced weapon. Death-Ray- A laser beam that blasts out of the hero's good eye. UNLIMITED AMMO! Must be unlocked, though. Phantom Swords- Summoned swords from the other side. Must be unlocked to use. Redeemer- A special weapon made for exorcisms by the Vatican. It is a cross shaped rifle which shoots out small disks. Has decent range and power. Crimson Libra- A small pistol empowered with passion. Somehow it is able to use .45 magnum bullets... how is beyond even me. This baby is the most powerful weapon in the game and has great range. The down side is the ammo for it is incredibly rare. A Child's Love- At one point in the game you may switch characters. This is the other character's default weapon. This weapon uses phantasmic rounds to put a ghost to rest. Is no more powerful than the Maria handgun. Super Soaker- This weapon may seem silly now, but trust me your life might depend on it. It is just an average water gun, so shooting at ghosts/monsters with it may not be a very good idea. Flashlight- This actually is a weapon. Some enemies are very sensitive to light, so keep that in mind. I'll try to take some pictures of the weapons. They aren't the greatest in the world, but I'm proud of them.

I don't mean to be a grammar Nazi, but it's kind of hard reading that whole preview in your first post with everything squished into one paragraph. Usually, when you're writing, you need to keep different ideas separated into different paragraphs. It helps the reader to keep track of his place. Don't think I'm trying to rag on you, but it's just kind of tedious. I have to say that your story is ing incredible, though. It sounds like a real commercial game, and a good one at that. And people actually made fun of that Jameston guy when he got burned? People can be such s.

I honestly didn't expect so much positive feedback. I'm so glad to hear that you guys like it. ;D

Sounds pretty awesome.
Are you going with the whole quiet, eerie Resident Evil/Silent Hill atmosphere... ?
I love it when you're exploring an old abandoned church/building/whatever, and all you can hear is your own footsteps, and all of the sudden, something comes flying at you out of nowhere... that's beautiful.
Good luck... hope to hear more about this!

Good luck... hope to hear more about this! Yeah, I'm going with kind of a Silent Hill like atmosphere. Not quite the whole quiet thing, though. There may be some of those, but that is more of a cheap scare. My main aim is to affect the player's mind more than anything, rather than the whole jump reflex. If you get my drift.

"My main aim is to affect the player's mind more than anything, rather than the whole jump reflex." Cool!! Very cool. Really, that's one thing that bugs me about scary movies/games/etc. actually. I like stuff like what you posted, but things making me jump and whatnot are no fun.

This does sound really cool (to bad my ps2 has decided to stop reading my RPGM2 disc ; ; ) I am such a story myself lol, I care about a good storyline more then anything in a game. Plot twists are always what get me too, I think a movie/game/book has accomplished itself when I have an emotional reaction to something that changes a character in some way. Now that I can play rpgmxp and create games there that will be my goal now that LAD is well under way and I feel like sleeping in school again from the frying brain. I want to get a new ps2 at some point (apparently the original batch had issues playing blue discs or something which mine is in) and then hopefully I can play some games, especially this, I hope the storyline is nice, I would be looking forward to something good.

Sorry to hear about your PS2, I had the same problem before. It sucks.
Honestly, at one point I considered dropping the game, but my fire has been rekindled. I'm working hard for you guys. I don't want to let you down. ;D
