...what song would it be, and why?
i would think it's pretty obvious that Rush's Freewill would be F:BOP's theme song. other than inspiring the name change, its lyrics fit the game's messages like a glove.
"There are those who think that life has nothing left to chance A host of holy horrors to direct our aimless dance
A planet of play things We dance on the strings Of powers we cannot perceive 'The stars aren't aligned Or the gods are malign...' Blame is better to give than receive
You can choose a ready guide in some celestial voice If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice You can choose from phantom fears and kindness that can kill I will choose a path that's clear I will choose freewill
There are those who think That they were dealt a losing hand The cards were stacked against them They weren't born in Lotusland
All preordained A prisoner in chains A victim of venomous fate Kicked in the face You can't pray for a place In heaven's unearthly estate
Each of us A cell of awareness Imperfect and incomplete Genetic blends With uncertain ends On a fortune hunt that's far too fleet"
discuss...

To me it'd have to be Mirrors Paradise by The Kovenant.

Yeah, something I've personally composed probably. Not like I'll ever get around to making an RPG Maker 2 game anyway though...

My Game Does have a theme song. ... Anywhoo, I can't resist not talking about it. It's my best piece yet. When I first finished my first run of it with the main instrument switching between RPGM2's basic Guitar sound and basic Piano and basic Harp sound throughout the song and I added a gentle Bass that came at what should have (I know from listening and considering other timings with bass from known gentle musicians, eh!!!) anywhoo!! I realized that having a soothing mellow bass sound for more than one just note wasn't possible... and that if I wanted to add anything more to what was by far my most technically advanced and best song ever, I couldn't - at least not on RPGM2 So basically, I had reached the point where no matter what, in order for me to make better music I had to stop making music on RPGM2 and find a better music program. It seems as though Reason (I went to a forum called YoungComposers and asked a bunch of questions and was very persistent). Of course, if any of you happen to compose with a program besides RPGM2 by all means please do speak up. I have NOT YET gotten Reason due to not having a computer in my room do to (yes, I wasn't going to say anything but, illness, actually it's the same exact mother ing problem that still hasn't been fixed since now OVER A YEAR...Oh well). Anywhoo, so there we are. My game will contain a theme song: a dumbed down version (RPGM2 version) of the theme song I make with the real music program. I'll end this post on a high note though, at least... My Game Does have a theme song. So, Suck It!

I'd say Keane's 'A Bad Dream' fits my game perfectly.

Thats a really hard choice for Runewind Saga. I mean yes you have to save the world from tyrants who got the three tomes that control the living, the dead, and machines, but I can say much without giving away its awesomeness. 4 of the 5 endings are based on affection values with certain characters...
Sooo. I would probably have to go with "I just want you" by Ozzy, not really as a theme song, more like a song to play at the very end to sum it all up. When I consider the last chapter, the original ending, how much you go through, and how the best way to end the adversity is with love it just fits.
Also I do give many of my characters and villians there own theme songs from among the available tracks. I used dungeon 4 for my favorite villian, and castle 1 for my favorite hero.
There are no unlockable doors There are no unwinable wars There are no unrightable wrongs Or unsignable songs
There are no unbeatable odds There are no believable gods There are no unnameable names Shall I say it again, yeah
There are no impossible dreams There are no invisible seams Each night when the day is through I dont ask much
I just want you I just want you
There are no uncriminal crimes There are no unrhymable rhymes There are no identical twins or Forgivable sins
There are no incurable ills There are no unkillable thrills One thing and you know its true, I dont ask much
I just want you I just want you I just want you I just want you
Im sick and tired of bein sick and tired I used to go to bed so high and wired, yeah - yeah, yeah, yeah I think Ill buy myself some plastic water I guess I should have married lennons daughter, yeah - yeah, yeah, yeah
There are no unachievable goals There are no unsaveable souls No legitimate kings or queens, do You know what I mean? yeah
There are no indisputable truths And there aint no fountain of youth Each night when the day is through, I dont ask much I just want you
