I hope this site gets bigger eventually. That way I don't have to ask all the questions. plus I can show off my rank! This site has some sort of air that makes you feel like your I don't know... not online and actually with each other. Until of course we all flee to our own individual masterpeices! and no I don't wear glasses... for whoever asked me... Is there anyway for us to put advitisers around agetec forums besides the little caption under your name. Only a select few see that...

You don't have to ask all the questions. These message boards have only been around for 2 days, people are still finding their way here. The way you talk, it's almost as if you've never posted on a message board before. This site has some sort of air that makes you feel like your I don't know... not online and actually with each other. That's the way message boards work. They're intended for leaving messages. As I've said before, they are NOT an instant messaging program. Many people (including myself, eventually) have a routine that includes making a run of all the message boards once a day, or even every other day. That is my eventual goal, but right now, since my board is so new, I'm trying to respond to all posts as soon as possible. That's why I said that it's important to be patient when you ask a question, as it could take up to 2 days or more to get the answer that you're looking for, especially since there aren't that many people here right now. As for advertising on other boards, the best technique I have found is to put a link in your signature. That way, every time you post, that link is right there. A curious soul (most RPG players) is bound to eventually click that link. Believe it or not, I get at least 3 visits a day to my website from people clicking on a link at the bottom of one of my posts. That was after I had gone months without updating. For about a week following new updates, I get up to 10 visits a day from people who have clicked a signature link. If you build it, they will come, Doan the Nado

if you want help on a tbs (im assuming tactical battle system?) ask questions in the rpg tech help, and ill help you figure it out. what movement do you need help w/.
and yes, people will come. i dont know how many members Doans expecting, but im quite satisfied w/ the turnout so far. this is definitely a better alternative to his guest book. and traffic is good too.

Just frequent the agetec moard and Pavilion too. The agetec forum seems to usually be the most active RPG Maker 2 board.

This is the code that I have placed in my signature at ezBoard: [link=doanthenado.tripod.com newwindow]The Domain of Doan the Nado. Last updated October 12, 2004.[/link] [link=doansdomain.proboards27.com newwindow]Also be sure to check out my all-new message board![/link]
That code creates the following signature, which is seen at the bottom of every ezBoard post I make: The Domain of Doan the Nado. Last updated October 12, 2004.Also be sure to check out my all-new message board!I would really appreciate anyone spreading the word about my message board (if you like it, of course!). I told vespuleth that my vision for this place is to have it eventually be a meeting place for everyone who is serious about RPGM2. I will post more on this later, but I have high hopes for this place! Anyways, as I was saying in a previous post, hyperlinked signatures are great ways to attract traffic to a website, so placing a link like the one I created above should help out any personal site. Good luck with your sites, Doan the Nado

I do really like how the technical stuff is separated from the rest, and how the the various individual game topics are.

Sure ves, take ALL the credit for the way the categories are set up ;D.
Yeah, I tried to keep in mind the things I liked and disliked about the Pavilion and Agetec boards when I set about creating this forum. I thought it would improve everyone's experience if the technical info they wanted was in one place while the game info was in another. When the Pavilion proposed combining everything into one, I didn't like that idea much, so I decided to go with one that was more along the lines of what I thought most RPG makers would prefer.
On a side note, I'm thinking about removing the "Doan the Nado's RPG" forum and just moving it on into the "Your Games" forum, and changing the name to "Our Games". I mentioned before that I wanted the board to become all of ours, and that is the first step in that change.
Let me know what you think,
Doan the Nado

That sounds like a good idea since others than people asking you for info it's kind of empty. I don't really mind one way or another.
And yes, I do remember when they were talking about that at the Pavilion. I think I said it'd be nice to have them separated. That's mostly because I enjoy the game topics a lot more than the technical ones (but I do read up on them to keep up to date with the latest advances). It's probably also because I already know how to do everything I have planned for my game.
Oh yeah, since the Spam board is pretty much useless and pointless, you could make the Everything Else one be for everything non-RPG Maker related (I've known some places that have a section like that, kind of like the Off-topic of Off-topicness Off-topic Really Off-topic thread at the agetec forum).

That's why this is called the "Everything Else" forum. It means that it is for "Everything Else" that is not covered in any other forum, unless it's spam. The Spam forum is pretty pointless, indeed, but it does give members a place to test images, signatures, and avatars and a place to easily increase post count with completely worthless posts. It also gives me and ves a place to post with a "tester" account to see how our codes affect the average user, and it gives us the power to tell someone that they have absolutely no reason to spam the other forums. If two people wanted to have a flame war, I suppose they could do that, too.
But yeah, this forum is supposed to be the "Off-Topic Topic of Off-Topicness that is Very Off-topic" or whatever Valk called it. So post away with anything you want. And I have asked this many times, but if anyone suggests a name change for this forum, I'll be happy to change it.
I'm thinking about changing it to "Domain Chatter",
Doan the Nado
