Important update: Yeesh, I haven't been paying the slightest attention to this topic. Okay, so anybody who's interested, I've got a YouTube channel: www.youtube.com/user/GDGamingThat, along with RPGM Pavilion and RPGM Magazine, is probably the best place to contact me about doing an LP of your game. The section I linked at the Pav is no longer in use.

I'm not sure if anybody's still paying attention to this place, but I thought I'd post just in case. Don't know what a let's play is? It's when you have someone recording themselves play a video game, adding their own commentary to what they're playing. I've been doing them for a year, now. So far, I've covered six RPGM games, two of which are for RPGM2: Untamed Madness and SD Paradise. I've got a special area at RPG Maker Pavilion for them, including a request page. Anybody interested, check out what I've got, or request that I tackle your own game. It might take a little while to get to your game, depending on the size of the games already in the queue, but I'll be sure to get to them eventually. Actually, I could also use help from others willing to LP RPGM games. There's a lot of them out there, and there's no way I'll be able to hit them all. A couple people have already tried, including an LP of RPGM2 Tetris, recorded by Damien (the guy trying to make an RPGM2 Sims game). That's about it. If anybody's still lurking and notices this, check it out, request your own game, or create an LP as well. Hope you guys are interested. IMPORTANT EDIT:The sections at the Pavilion are no longer in use. Instead, please refer to my YouTube channel: www.youtube.com/user/GDGaming

Well, that's hardly useful. I need to know the event's number because I was wanting several events to use same script, with the minor diffeence that specific variables need to be increased depending on which event the script is triggered in.
Well, I just made copies of the scripts for each event, instead. Hopefully I won't need the memory.

Okay, RPGM2 experts. I've either found an RPGM2 glitch, or I'm missing something terribly important.
Why isn't the "Event Info Load" command loading the event name or number? It's loading the event's coordinates just fine.

I found that the water wave (not ripple) effect set to ultra-rapid works.

Nice characters there. Which one's the helecopter? Are there supposed to be four pictures in each row? It looks like the fourth column was meant to have pictures, but there's nothing there. What's the third picture from the left on the bottom row?
And I've said it before and I'll say it again. The biggest problem with the VFX editor is the lack of visible coordinates.
EDIT: Whoops, didn't realize the vehicles were on a different page. Seems to be an empty space there too, right under the second helecoptor picture. I can't bring up a show picture option, so I don't know if there is supposed to be anything in those empty spaces or not.

D'oh! I just realized, giving each character the same stats and a class (whether real or unnamed) would get rid of the unbalance when working with slow stat-gaining. I still like big numbers, though.

Personally, I prefer high numbers for two reasons. One, because high numbers kinda look cool, IMO. It's often an awesome feeling when you reach 1000 damage or what-have-you for the first time in your attacks.
The other is because of RPGM's and RPGM2 stats system. It sucks. If every character started with an attack power of 10, with one character gaining 2 points each level, one 3, and the last 4, you'd have a really bad difference in stats. When they reach level 30, one would have 68 points of attack, one 98, and one 128. The last character would have about twice the amount of power that the first character does, thus inferiorating the first character's attack power. And really, who else hates how many mage-type characters are only good when they cast spells? Maybe if the stats were 10, 11, and 12 gained each level, it'd be much more even if at L30 they'd have 300, 329, and 358 points. Which means, the first character isn't nearly as inferior. But then when you do have those stats (and have a defence power that's relatively lower; I for one would hate to have an attack of 350 and regularly take off only 50), you get into a whole bunch of stuff dealing with how come HP needs to be high.
I kinda like how the PC makers (using RMXP) let you customize the rate of increase furthur (for example, having an attack go up 4, 4, 4, 3, 3, 4, 4, 4, 3, and 3 for each level, instead of just 4 or 3 each level). Though by default, RMXP gives you high numbers anyway (there are 5 settings and I'm using the lowest three).

Well, in Thief of Magic, I know my characters are going to eventually have over 1000 HP/MP, but I don't know how much exactly.
For another game I'm working on, the highest stats (minus equipment) are: HP - 5912, 3241 MP - 5299, 2933 Strength - 589, 321 Defense - 581, 316 Agility - 533, 293 Intelligence - 566, 312
The first numbers are if I have a max level of 99 (default), the second being if capped at 50. May not even go that high, depending on how high a level one would be by the final boss (whose HP apparently can go as high as 999,999; but I highly doubt I'll be doing that).

I don't really like that, either, how you could get damage as a result of not knowing what choice to make. Maybe if they aren't very frequent, I could tolerate them. But when I go through dungeons, I want to save as much HP and potions as I can, and that won't be too easy if half of my decisions make me lose HP (which of course would eventually mean having to use a potion), and the choices pop up real frequent.

If anything, could you start the contest close to or after the end of the contest at the Pavilion? If it's something I'd want to enter, I wouldn't want it interfering with my progress on my Pavilion contest entry.

It does, actually. I must've lost at least 10 posts so far, two or three of which had creative content like a story I was wanting to post (not a story for a game, either).

My board posting problems are simply the computer locking up every time I'm taking my time posting a long message (and about every long message takes a while). Actually, it doesn't completely lock up, but this white text box with no text except an OK/Cancel button pops up, and then the computer acts up and I have to restart it. So any time I notice I'm posting a long message, I cut out what I have, back up a page (so I'm not on the posting page), and finish what I want in notepad. Then I copy it back and post it all at once when I'm done.

I think the biggest problem is when you put in a tag, and it places the cursor after the end tag instead of between the two tags, where you want to type the stuff you wanted to italisize/bold/whatever in the first place. Oh, and it also doesn't help that highlighting text and clicking on a tag deletes the highlighted text instead of placing the tags around the text. Smilies, I don't have a problem with.

Wow, that is a low amount.
BTW, you should have expected your forum to become so big. You're pretty famous with that drawbridge and other custom stuff of yours.

No freaked-out smilies like the ones on AIM. Ones like the smilies here will do just fine.
Perhaps a way to change the color of the background and text color when we're in the room, whether it be applied to the whole room or was made for each individual person.

Interesting offers. If I ever feel that I need a video made, I'll let you know. Of course, I probably won't, if only for the fact that it would take up a rather large amount of memory at my site. I know you'd host these things (I think that's what I read), but I prefer to have all my stuff at my site. Well, with the exception of having my games available at the Pav and the Mag, of course.

Wouldn't want to have a contest too often, or else we won't have enough time to work on one game before having to worry about the next contest. One contest a year should be enough. Especially considering that the Mag and the Pavilion both have their own contests.
As for contest ideas, who knows? The most basic idea is to create a great game, better than any other entries. Other ideas are like two of the Pav contests right now, a "craziest game" contest like the one ending at the Mag, another Pav contest from before involving that a game cannot use the Default Battle System at all, and probably some other ideas. But I like the simple "create a great game" contest best, because it allows for more freedom of what I can create.

If the add isn't too big, and is not a pop-up (or a pop-under as the case rarely is), then I wouldn't mind if you put an ad on the top.
