I am doing some research on colleges so I know what to aim for, and I have came up with a result.
I first checked out local colleges for game design, and it all turned out to expensive. Then, I found this place in Orlando Florida, for about $10,000 cheaper, at the least, including books, laptop, labfees, parking fees, etc.
fullsail.com/
That is the site, got any input?

specialty universities/colleges = BAD local/nearby 'tech-ish' places = GOOD Why? College is suppose to be a fun and educational experience. Full Sail will probably get the educational part down really well, but if you're not gonna have fun there, it'll make the education part difficult (lotta up-tight staff in specialty schools will say 'no no' to fun, i hear) I'm going to my state's University, and I still plan on being a game designer. Dont think ya need something to fancy. There's my stand on the subject

Well. My teacher in computer graphics told me about this place, and there is by no means no fun. It is not really a specialty college. It is based on the entertainment part of the careers. It started out as a recording studio. It goes from Music to Graphics to game design to movie producing. The game development section of the school has arcades in the halls to play during break, in between classes and all. It has a 21 Month period for game development, and some alumni from there helped make games such as LOTR MMORPG, WoW, Call of Duty 3, etc. I looked at local colleges, and they reqiure a 4 year plan, over $70-80,000 for just tuition (Not including books and such, Full Sail includes books in the tuition.), you have to supply your own computer, (Full sail includes a computer in the tuition, it is about a $2,100 laptop, with the software.) I am just right now searching colleges and this seems to be the best bet...

That sounds like a nice opportunity if you are completely sure that is what you want to do. As for me, I had a reasonable idea of what I wanted to do coming into Ohio State, but it ended up changing 3 times. Fortunately, OSU is large enough that it has a rather well-respected department in all 3 majors I was a part of. So that may be one thing you might need to consider: if you find yourself tiring of the gaming stuff, what will you be left with?

Well, these are the things I want to do. #1: 3D Artist. #2: Geaphic Designer. #3: Game Programing.
They have all three, and then some. I want to be involved in games, or graphics, as simple as that. I have been for years. It is what I have been pursuing.
