[white] Download it now!!!So, I was sleeping the other night and had a couple Map Editor (ME) ideas force themselves into my head. Thus, I'm back at work on a technical demo. At the moment, I have a [teal]Simple Town[/teal] that serves as a hub to eight zones that I've been working on, where I've got three completely finished: a [green]Dark Forest[/green], a [red]Lava Cave[/red], and an [brown]Underground Cave[/brown]. My last tech demo had a lot of stiffness to it, so I'm hoping to make these new maps more fluid and realistic. Also, my city map features my block extending techniques to more buildings into a map. Once I get my computer running again I'll post a few pics.[/white]

[white]Well, the demo is all finished and ready to play. The save file is uploaded to the codejunkies website through my network adapter, since my comp is still inoperable (Ves is lazy). Those of you with net adapters can get it from the codejunkies directly, the rest of you can download it from their site by clicking HERE. Its got 8 levels/areas/etc. to explore. After you exit each area you get one character of the passcode, enabling you to enter the game through the edit menu later. I hope everyone really likes the new demo. Personally, I feel the maps in this demo far exceed the quality of the previous demo. The final product includes the following areas: [red]Lava Caverns[/red] [blue]Ice Caverns[/blue] [green]Dark Forest Trails[/green] Underground Caverns [yellow]Coastal Beaches[/yellow] [orange]Rocky Desert Trails[/orange] [purple]Grassy Roads[/purple] and [teal]Mountain Cliff Paths[/teal]The over all theme of the areas was to show not how to make cities (although you start in a simple city map) but how to make dungeons and pathways as was done in FFX.[/white]

[white]And they keep on keeping on. Look, there's a sign. Wait, still lost. Oh, icy. The vanishing waterfall, a personal favorite. The creepy forest, with radioactive water? More deliberately ambiguous shots of the forest. Sand in my boots. Sand storm a blowing, and a cactus! The serene scene of a grassy road. With a clear water river. Well, that covers all the maps. If you want to see more, and higher quality pics, you'll just have to download the demo. =P[/white]

Wow, that looks amazing. Very nice work. It's too bad about RPGM2's clipping limits, because I'm sure everything would look even nicer if you could see off into the distance.

[white]If I wasn't so lazy and cheap (I'm a really cheap bastard) I'd figure out how to hook my PS2's audio up to the computer and make some vids for the demo, but that would take too much work for my lazy self. Besides, it takes like 10 minutes tops to see all the maps in the demo. They're short and only meant to be examples.
Hmm, I wonder what Drew is up to, he makes vids and isn't as lazy as I.[/white]

I don't think I emphasized how good it all looks enough in my previous post. The beach and lava scenes especially look perfect, and I agree that the waterfall looks great.

Sorry, but I don't play RPGM2 anymore, and I haven't even tried to hook my X-Port up to my Linux computer.

I definitely will! I've got to at least do so before I start working on my dungeons (2 Caves, Ice Cave, Volcano, Forest).

I just finished downloading it. I'm going to check it out once I get the chance. Edit: I just checked it out last night and it is amazing. I was surprised maps that small took you 2-3 hours to do, but then again, with all that intricate detail, I guess it would take that long. Everything looked real. I think it looked even better than your last Tech Demo. Great job, man. I look forward to another demo.

[white]I just figured I'd pop my head in the door and look around.
I don't even have my PS2 anymore.
Still have RMXP though. Not that I ever touch it.[/white]
