Are you telling me you'd be disappointed if I made this for PC (Game Maker) instead of RPGM2? Does it really matter if it's for RPGM2 if the game can be even better on the PC? Just so you know, I still would love to finish Vanished Nights. However, I was planning to do this with game maker. I just want to finish another game with GM first, so I have more experience and so I can make Vanished Nights as good as it can be. So would that still be disappointing you?

...... Maybe..... But remember, I am an RPGM2 fan, not a Game Maker fan. Don't take it personal, because I am just giving you . Vanished Nights was a source of inspiration to me. It actually made me want to implement an action battle system into my game Josaigdan. (In fact, the two battle systems are similar.) You remember the CBS I had before hand. Its kind of like how you give a baby a lolipop, and take it away. It cries. Its kind of like how you said you were making this game on RPGM2 again. Then now you aint. You like to feed off the sweet milk of our tears.

maybe you could do both? the game maker version of vanished nights and the rpgm2 version. i think that would be cool. maybe give passwords or something in one game so it could used in the other. connect them.

He had been working on the RPGM2 version for a long time, making all VFX bosses with custom movements and everything, so to do that all in RPGM2 alone would take several months of frequent RPGM2 playing. It might take a little less time on Game Maker, but I don't see how it would be better to make the same game for two systems than it would be to make two different games. As far as I'm concerned, you can make it however you like. It would have been nice to see it out for RPGM2 as a sort of "Hey, look what can be done with this game," but if you'd prefer to use Game Maker, more power to you. My only issue is that I will not be using Windows in a little while, here, so hopefully the program can run okay in WINE (a Windows emulator for Unix environments).

A new Vanished Nights (RPGM2) demo has been sent to Doan and should be up soon hopefully. This demo has more of the first dungeon completed, and the item/magic combo implemented. To combine the ice magic and bomb item, press [], then L1, then R1 (fairly quickly). Also, new music is present in the first room of the dungeon (because I didn't really know where else to put it for now!). Oh, and try using ice magic on some of the enemies... The boss is still there, but there's a puzzle to solve first. Hope you enjoy the latest version. As for what format to continue VN on, I'm still open to finishing it on RPGM2. I won't make it for both that and PC though. After I finish my current game maker project, I'll think some more about what I want to develop VN on. I'm not going to promise anything, but there is still a part of me that isn't through with RPGM2 yet.

I'm glad to see this is back on(no matter what platform it's released on). I didn't get a chance to play it, but I've watched that old video several times.

I agree with bigfoot. I just played your demo and loved every second of it. I don't think it would be the same on Game Maker. RPGM2's capabilities are more rule-breaking than Game Maker's (because being able to do things like ACBS are expected on GM). And you won't just be letting everyone else and me down, but you'll also be letting down my little brother. He's a big fan of Zelda games and loved it. Before you consider making this on GM, consider what everyone else will think. But if it ends up being on GM, whatever. I'll still play and probably still love it, but I don't think it will have the same feel as it would if it were on RPGM2. Edit: Really? Well, it looks like I'm not done with this little demo just yet then.

RPGM2's capabilities are more rule-breaking than Game Maker's (because being able to do things like ACBS are expected on GM). You're right, it wouldn't be the same on Game Maker. Some aspects would be better, others would be worse. It would definitely have a different feel, and that's something that I'll have to factor in. But as to being rule-breaking, that's not a priority. What I want is to create a fun game. Consider what everyone else will think? I'm going to make it for the platform that I think will provide the most potential for it. Right now, I don't know what that is. At the moment, I'm focused on my current game maker shmup project. But thanks for your support. I just wish you didn't have to resort to trying to make me feel guilty. That's not the way to go about convincing someone to do something. But let me know if you ever figure out how to get to the boss.

I finally found the boss. It took me a while to figure out how to beat him, but I ended up doing it. It was very fun and difficult fighting him.
Also, I didn't mean to make you feel guilty. I was pointing out that my brother liked the game a lot, and I don't think it would be as enjoyable on Game Maker. I was sort of joking around a bit when I said that and didn't intend to make you feel guilty, but it's still something to keep in mind.
