a bit of an update, for once...
i was able to spend a couple of hours on my game this weekend... the opening cut scene is in place, and provides the game wit a lot of atmosphere, which, in turn, makes me a lot more excited about the project.
i really don’t want to give any new developments away as of yet... the original plot that i posted still stands, but has taken a bit of a back burner spot to more recent developments, and the whole game has taken a considerably darker undertone, and has developed a strong sense of self-referential humor somewhere along the line.
but, for the first time in awhile, i’m really excited about my game, and just wanted to share.

I know how you feel. I'm helping my younger brothers make their dream game. It doesn't have the most original storyline, but just working on it makes me want to start on my own game. Anyway, I'm glad to hear that you're still working on Reawakening and haven't given up on it.

The stuff you guys have been coming up with lately has REALLY gotten me wanting to start working on my game again.
Now, all I have to do is tear myself away from my new high-speed Internet connection (first time I've had full-time access to the Internet in over a year), dust off the PS2 keyboard (probably literally), and re-learn everything I've probably forgotten in the past four months.
Probably the most exciting thing is going to be sitting down and playing through the first fifteen minutes of my game... I don't even want to think about the RPGM2 limitation hoops I had to jump through to get everything to work. That'll probably be what really motivates me.
I'm also going to start trying to play your guys' games again, starting out with the completed ones, or, more specifically, Nash's Zelda game. I started playing it forever ago, and didn't make it very far before my memory card trashed everything I had, and at that point, I'd already erased it from the Max Drive. (Bigfoot's game was the only thing that survived, which is why I was able to play it.) But, now that I've got unlimited access to both a computer with an Internet connection and a PS2 (under the same roof, nonetheless! This is a new concept for me!) things should start getting easier.
Well, I suppose that's enough for now... if I can get RPGM2 going tonight, that'll probably be all the motivation I need, and you guys will (hopefully) be hearing a lot more out of me, game-wise.
