I will be releasing a video demo sometime in the next four months that will show Holmstine completed with all the shops and townspeople in place, the one custom song I made (which I want feedback on), some of the world map, the rock, paper, scissors mini game, and one battle with some of my favorite VFX (not finished with battle system entirely, but you can still see what it's looking like). You can read up more on my game at this board or my site ( williampaladin.tripod.com ). Edit: Oh yeah. I also want feedback on the custom enemy animations that'll be on the video. And there'll be a custom camera system and custom menu system that'll be shown in the video. The menu is almost finished, just needs a little editting, but otherwise it's done.

Yeah just point us when it's out. And try to have different files of the video, like I can't see Microsoft Video Player etc...

Nope, it's been taking me a while to make the insides of the city, because of the freezing in object placement, so I end up saving every 1-2 interiors, sometimes having to reset and sometimes not (but often, maybe 1/2 I get 1-2 done without it freezing), so that's taking a while. I might cut down on the number of townspeople and size of the cities, but instead I think I'm going to make plain interiors to buildings in the object editor, then reuse those but put different events in, many of which will be uninteractable with (like an object), so I can reuse interiors. I don't know if this'll save memory though. I've also been working on townspeople, character models, enemy actions, and VFX lately, and very soon will start making the battle formulas and placing them where needed. Some weapon types will likely be cut, namely Tonfas and Claws. The classes' stats were re-balanced (prequel) and I made a note in a script saying how to obtain each master/class (which I've started working on too with the townspeople). And I've been working on a custom music to start the game off (during the questions and the dream if possible, and have got that all ironed out and now will transcript it into the game. I guess the one new development is all the enemies will have custom animations, which'll take some time to do (2 so far ), but'll make it seem cooler. So... For the demo I mostly want feedback on the two custom songs and the custom enemy animations. Thanks for encouraging me, I do really want to release something soon.

Must have missed this earlier, but I'm really looking forward to watching your video. So yeah, there's some more encouragement for you.

Newer update for demo: Finished all the battle scripts, so there'll be a battle or two in the demo for everyone to see. There'll be one custom song instead of two. I decided I'll get feedback on the first one before putting more in. The jeweler's been cut (deleted most, but left some to post for others to use if they'd like sometime maybe). I should have the menu patched up for the demo. I've been meaning to make some minor changes to it for a while, and that will also be shown in the demo. To release the demo faster, I'll likely just complete one section of town interiors and all the exteriors (freezing makes this take a while). I'll also show the world map some. The items (more so equipment) have been cut down a ton (maybe like 1/2 as much equipment as before). Creations have also been cut down (a little over 1/2 of what was before remain). I can now use some of my better ones for extremes. Classes have also been cut. There are now 40 classes total. The ones that were cut were numerous of the "ultimate" ones toward the end of the game, since I had more than enough and they tended to have more unique abilities. (the next video demo shall have some of the intro story) Since I decided to only finish a section of the city, the demo will come out faster than I used to think (no deadline though). See ya, and thanks for the encouragement! EDIT: Oh yeah! Doan, I'm gonna put Jimmy, Jim, Tom, Rick, and Zach in the section of city (interior so buildings won't get in the way) for the demo. Make sure to move the camera around them and get some good angles. I'll then post a shortcut to this at the jimmy boards in the messages to the band board and ask them what they think of themselves being made in a video game ;D (and if I could (may or may not) use "Hear You Me" in my game). Thank you! ;D (don't worry, they're all story-related in Paladin, just named after and design to look like the band )

I sure can try to do that. I can make a separate video of that part for you, if you'd like. I look forward to being the first one to see (through creation) your demo, and I'm glad to hear that you're making very good progress. It's probably good that some of the elements are getting cut down, as what you had seemed like a LOT of memory. It now seems a bit more manageable but no less interesting.

Did the video feature anything that wasn't in the demo? I remmeber seeing all the maps and towns before, but I never messed with the battles. Your world map shows promise.

No, I made the movie from his demo file.
