I bet you expected to read a story... well you can now be disappointed. The story for my game is going to be kept a secret until it's release/nearing release.
The story itself is quite original and based upon nothing more than my own ideas. It is an epic medieval fantasy story that leans towards realism (still dragons, etc... but nothing truely oddball. Think of it as a realistic game if fantasy were real). I would much rather have someone play my game and see the story for themselves than to have me explain my story to them. It'll make for a better gaming experience in my opinion. As far as the world goes, I could give you some basic information.
People grow up different all around the world. They are in different types of towns. The towns hold some effect over how people have grown up. People in large towns most likely grew up with good schooling and probably maintain a decent lifestyle. No matter how big of a town it is, it has a school of some type. Whether it be magic school, melee school, or farming school is up to the location. Children go to school at a fairly young age, but don't stay long. They officially stop going to school at age 12 and seek a career, or they can continue in advanced classes for several more years.
Monsters are pretty much a replacement for animals. So instead of hunting a rabbit for dinner, you would hunt a monster (that varies upon location). Most monsters tend to stay away from crowded or high-traffic areas, but some are brave enough to go anywhere. There are even monsters who ignore human contact and avoid human contact of any kind. For several of the reasons above, the relative strength of any adventurers will be depend upon the strength of the monsters in that area.
Note: This topic will turn into a hint/help/walkthough topic after I have released my game.
