There is a more updated version on it's way to your email as I write this!
I even ask your advice on an opening VFX sequence I added that is not present in the current demo.
And you can preview the unfinished Pseudo PAC-MAN mini game!
If I hadn't already made a letter and max file of the new game I'd let it go, but the rest is easy so watch the email...
Peace.

My absolute pleasure Rodak, I am a fan of your work, so I look forward to giving this a "preview", and Ill give my thoughts on the opening sequence, but looking from the screens you have, I am betting its damn good. Ill be back with my thoughts

The VFX sequence is something I stumbled upon accidendally and doubt has been done before.
It's Psychedelic.
Or at least I hope it is.
And I am a fan of anyone who can make a better VFX Cow than I!
Looking forward to your thoughts.
Peace.

I finally played all of your demo! It seriously ruled, the intro was very amazing, it made me forget that I was playing a RPGM2 game, the music, the stars, the new part with the graphics was very trippy. (And psychedelic, I suggest keeping the rotation, it really adds to the effect that the music and stars all bring to the picture.) And for the other VFX, the weapons, bugs, and some of the abilities (forge was my personal favorite), I was amazed. And for the story....... I loved every second of it! It really was fun giving these so called "polititians" and "lawyers" nice little deaths. They are insugnificant forms of life that just choose something to attack for publicity or money. Like its even truely there own opinion. Plus I played your Pac-Man game, (me punching myself for not thinking of it first.) and it was really well done, and I can imagine it was probably one of the easier parts of creation. Anyways well done with this game so far. I cant really find anything to nag ya about so far, (well... Joe lieberman took a little too long to kill, but killing him was fun so I cant really count that as a negetive.) And really love your VFX work, you should be very proud of those, unlike me you go way far into uncharted territory in both terms of VFX and concepts. While I only do things that I know of, you create things totally original, like your shuttle launch, and those bugs/spores. And the idea of a main character as a weapon. I look forward to the final game, BF721

(well... Joe lieberman took a little too long to kill, but killing him was fun so I cant really count that as a negetive.) Joey sometimes casts anti attack. That's when you whip out your Tripple X Video Game to lower his defense! That always gets politicians off guard. I am glad you got to see it before the drive died. I still am unsure about that camera rotation thing... but will probably keep it. I'm curious; did you play the Hangman mini game? The form you get for winning that game is one of my favorites. And the Pac Man problem has been fixed (see the "Bypass Objects Weirdness" thread in RPGM2 Technical Help). Now I just have some polishing and a couple cut scenes and one or two more politicains (plus Jack Thompson) and the game will be finished. I am glad you liked it. Peace.

Actually I did play your hang man mini game. I just put in some vowels first then I knew what the answer was, but when I went to the guess answer it wouldnt work.

when I went to the guess answer it wouldnt work. Hmmm... I think "Guess Answer" is Case Sensitive (I capitalized the first letter of the word) but wrote a script to make the regular game not case sensitive. That may be what happened. I'll test play it and find out. Thanks for pointing that out! I tried to set some kind of reward for each mini game. I still need to think of a few, but it should not be hard. I'll add it to the list. Peace.

hey loved the pics (its cool when you can make something look so original with the same toolset ;D) couldnt get the "demo 1" to download from any of the links, but what the hay. I was impressed by(and might rip off) the floating head. Ive wanted to do partial invisibility on charactors for some time but had'nt thought of "famous people players"ing it!
p.s. do americans even know what that Is?

I am uploading a new Demo1 as I write this and will edit in the URL after it finishes (yousendit.com has slow uploads... they scan carefully for viruses and woims and such). <><><> EDIT: <><><> Oopsy... I logged out and forgot to edit this in here, so here is the link: s54.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=2PUZNGLEPXQRV12V819K66UIV6<><><> END EDIT <><><> I'm always glad when someone likes my stuff, so Thank You very much. And... ... but hadn't thought of "famous people players"ing it! p.s. do americans even know what that Is? Americans have vast gaps in what foreign culture comes our way. We have to actively seek such stuff out (with the exception of the rare Public Television Station). I focused on seeking out Japanese Rubber Monster Bull Poop. There is nothing at all to compare to King Kappa! My favorite Japanese Giant Monster. He has a swimming pool on top of his head. Complete with diving board and surrounding shrubbery. He buries himself in the ground up to his forehead, waits for unsuspecting people to go swimming, then stands up and walks away with them. They get swallowed as the water drains into the monster with a toilet bowl flushing sound effect and swirl! Ummm, what was I on about? (but it was such a good rant) Oh yeah, "Famous People Players." I am sure some of us know about it but I must confess I have not heard of it. I'll keep my eyes open. If it is silly, I usually find it eventually! Peace.

I tried to upload 2 seperate ones but timed out twice at you send it. Maybe they on to me! If it is too big let me know. Maybe the web will be better for traffic later. Glad your'e interested! Peace.

OK, I'm gearing up for some screenshot and mpg file work for other people tomorrow and as practice made a quick update for this topic. Dig those Crazy Bugger Bugs! And here they are in action: s61.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=2FL722YFQM4CP3LNV7MUJB401TI like them, anyhow. The one that YOU becomes is interactive in the Battle System. Peace.

That was pretty neat... the bugs looked good. So is the object just to avoid them and get through? And how does this tie in with the whole "attack the Legislature" plot? I'm sure you know, but I'm just curious.

I've only seen the screenshots and one of your videos, but what I've seen is very impressive. Thanks! If you want to see other videos I can update the links (if they've expired). And Doan: The object here is simply to get past the other bugs. They activate upon touch and send you back to the start. I used a 2 block building at 100% transparency so they would have something to activate the touch command. It is a mini game that unlocks after you kill Joe Lieberman in Congress. I might as well give away a teeny secret from the game, so here is the traditional SPOILER WARNING: There is a hole on the side of the Congress building that allows you to sneak in through this path. You can completely bypass CNN by doing this (and some people might by accident, but I'll take that chance). Thanks for your interest. Progress has been slow lately... just a slump, I'm sure. But I got to post some cool SCTV (Stuffed Cow Television) in the Stop Motion Animation thread! Peace.

Wow, that bug video was awesome! is there really a V shaped attacking range, or was that whole thing a 'set up', so to say? Anyway, keep up the good work

That's my IACBS.
Imitation Active Custom Battle System.
It's all Visual Effects driven. The bug sprays his web (fireworks VFX) when you press the [] button. In fact all forms in this game use the [] button to attack (Smite!) outside the battle system.
Not everything can be smited, but those that can, react.
In this case I simply change control to the other bugs (all multiple placements of the same event) and have them rotate.
I only scripted one rotation, but they appear to rotate twice.
Ehh, it still looks good so I won't bother trying to debugger it.
Thanks for your interest!
Peace.

Progress on all my game related stuff has been slow lately as I find more and more things wrong with my house. I just learned (last week) that stuffing a towel under a leaking pipe is only a temporary fix! Whooda Thunk?
On the bright side I discovered that Squirrels love anti-freeze. The Glycols attract them like sugar attracts ants. And it kills the little buggerers!
I hate squirrels. They think that just because they lived in this house for years while it was empty (before I moved in) that they still own it or something.
I hope to make a little more progress this holiday weekend. So far I have finished only a few of the mini-games that needed work and am still stuck working on the Pseudo PAC-MAN (although I read here somewhere that Doan is working on a PAC-MAN game too, so maybe I'll organize my thoughts and post what I did, then seek help).
Thanks for the interest.
I'll try to get this completed this year (I get time off at the end of the year too). If I can stay focused the work should go fast.
Staying focused is the hard part.
Peace.

Well that is good to here, I look forward to seeing how everything ends up, and how it ends. And as for slow progress, your excuse is better than mine, for my game I constantly think of great ideas, but they are so big ideas. I know that they would take a great chunk of time. My prologue took about 5 days to complete in my new game, which would be hard to believe. I need a good kick in the ass to get further progress on my game.
Anyways keep up the great work on Videogamedrome, and I cannot wait to see what other amazing visuals you cook up with it.

I blew most of my Holiday time with family and other nonsense. I get only the usual shortened time to spend on this and no more time off until the Solstice! Flipping Heck.

Anyways keep up the great work on Videogamedrome, and I cannot wait to see what other amazing visuals you cook up with it. Oboy, you asked for it... Ya see, I was playing with RPGM3 for too long trying to finish something for the pavilion's "Garbage" contest and wanted to play with 2 for a while. Especially after that request. I was also watching Star Trek. The Doomsday Machine episode. This is what happened: Here is a short video clip showing the early stages of controlling the ship and putting it into the Default Battle System. s52.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1C2IIWXAMRWLD3NUPLHYHBTSIVAs usual, that's a temporary link. If it expires and you want to see it, post in the Videogamedrome thread! And, of course, some more screen shots: And it was all done in just a couple hours! More to come! Peace.
