It should be understood that implementing these skills for each character takes up quite a bit of memory and time, which is why each character only gets a select few attacks unique to them. I also don't want everyone to be clones of each other, I intended for every character to be very useful in some way. Also, if anyone's gotten that far in the last demo, characters can also use magic stones(there were 2 you could use in it, thunder and ice).
So I made this up to see if anyone wants to have a say in which attacks I implement, since for some reason the current skill list doesn't seem to sit well with everyone. Let me explain the options here.
More of the same:
TWO more normal skills for each character. Most of the cast has 4 now, or 3 if they're really useful. Has some good potential with different characters.
Group attacks, w00!:
The party will attack an enemy with a combination. The attacks you can do will of course, vary depending on who's in your party and what position they're in. This could put more purpose into the reordering option, since positioning can determine whether you get effective team attacks for the situation at hand or not.
Weapon skills obviously.:
I also thought up a new type of attack called Weapon Skills. Characters will have one attack of this nature, and certain weapons will give these attacks different properties. These attacks will consume AP, so use them sparingly if you want to raise your other skills.
Q:"But BK, what if the player doesn't care about raising their skills? In that case they could spam the attack over and over to win!"
A: Fear not, little Timmy. Plasma Dreams rewards high level skills by making battles easier, and punishes those who haven't at least maintained them. Also, the damage you deal with weapon skills is based on the accumulated level of all your other skills and enemies get stronger pretty quickly as you progress, so wasting all your AP on weapon skills will prove to be foolish.
This would make all weapons useful to an extent, so even if you say, have the ultimate weapon, the weakest weapon may still have a use by allowing you to use a decently powerful weapon skill at little cost.
A better magic stone system, WTF?:
As of now, players can use magic stones as items that attacks enemies with spells. I made these so that other characters won't be so inferior to Maya(who isn't in the demo but is a completed character who can use over 20 magic spells) and they can at least use some basic spells, but at a limited use(since they're consumed after one use).
My new idea is to make a bigger system for them, so players can get more powerful/unique magic stones by combining old ones together. This has some great potential.
So that's it. Each of these can make the game better by putting some more uniqueness into it. I might put the winning formula into the next demo, so everyone can see the fruits of their vote.
