I've been playing around with RPGM XP's demo. It's pretty cool and all, but I can't for the life of me figure out RGSS. I'm not very good at learning programming languages. RPGM2 wasnt a problem because the commands are for the most part clear in what they do. I'm just curious if anyone has figured out how to edit the default script commands.
Also, the trailer for RPGM XP showed several different combat types, from the default DW style, FF side view, to a dungeon crawler type action game. Is that stuff saved for the full version, or would that have to be scripted using RGSS? I'm guessing heavy scripting is involved... Oh lordy I hope not... But, what can ya do? I'll just have to wait till I get the full version.

i haven't yet looked at RGSS yet, but the defaults seem pretty good. if ever i'm feeling bold i might attempt rewriting some scripts and such, but i wouldn't count on it. anyway, XP is really fun so far, and i think i'm gonna get the actual game sometime soon.
hmmm...i may have to look into RGSS now...

If and when Enterbrain releases the sample games (there were english versions in the trailer so the sample games should be releaes sometime - I hope), then you will be able to take the battle systems from those games.
There are a lot of sites that have RGSS scripts written that do a lot of different things so you could use those instead of creating your own.

That's good to hear. I'll have to check a few of those sites when I get the time... And I get sick of Viewtiful Joe... Here's hoping those demos are released!
