The Eye of the Watcher is the new project I am working on with RPGM2. I'm taking the idea of each of the characters having several side quests involving their own personal lives from Seven Stones, and even a couple of the characters.
The game begins with Valiant, a member of the Watch in a large city. Out of all of the Watch, he is the only one who is not corrupt, or cowardly. He arrests many villains, and eventually even a lord in the first few chapters of the game. However, the lord is set free because of the corrupt court and that is when the plot twists begin...

I've altered my class system so that depending on the choices of the characters in their side stories, they become different classes.
One example is when one of the characters, a priest, finds a village and tries to convert the inhabitants to Christianity. When the villagers not only turn him away, but also try to stone him to death, he leaves but later returns to find the inhabitants of the village have been slain recently. He then has an option:
A) Ressurrect the people of the village, even though they will never know what happened and they will still hate him... OR B) Animate the corpses of the dead to serve him so that they will be punished for how he was treated
If the character chooses A, he will become a Saint, while if he chooses B, he becomes a necromancer.
As for actual game progress, not just ideas, I've completed the first city which takes up five full screens. It is by far the largest settlement I've made, as I've always fit them onto one screen. However, I figured since the first few chapters take place there (maybe two hours of gameplay? Haven't made the scripts yet...) it should be large enough to keep it exciting.

how do you people do it?! 2 hours of gameplay in a single city!!!?!?! i have about 3 hours of gameplay in my entire game so far, and that's doing all of the bonus stuff as well! plus i'm almost done! as of a town being 5 screens, i'm starting to like that idea more and more. my largest town is 4 screens, two towns have 2 screens and the rest have one. ANYWAY, back on topic: i like the idea of the "corrupt court", possibly leading to them turning on him, which would make the player think...and then there's also the possibility that they don't turn on him, also making the player think. sounds good so far -the smurf

Progress is still going good. As of right now, I am populating the town, while modifying enemy actions. I must say I've got some creations of enemies that make me proud. The one thing that worries me is the space the game will take. I don't care how long it would take to make the game, I am really into this one. I'm just worried I will run out of space, which will make me downsize it, which will get rid of a lot of the parts that I like a lot. If I don't run out of space, this will be a masterpiece.

You can always use a password to allow the player to transfer information over to another memory slot. Or you can use the memory card trick which requires two cards with a file with the same file name and slot, and saved at the same time so that the save game thinks they are the same file. It is easier to just fit the game in one slot though. Good luck.

So far the games goin pretty good. Only seen the first town, some of the monsters and a few classes, but seems like its goin to be a good game. I like the idea of a different storyline and different classes for each option u make. The game has had a few secrets that I can already see, and hope the game continues as well as it has so far.

The first city of the game (all 5 dungeons of it) is finally complete, decoration-wise. Half of it is populated, the other half still needs to be. I must say that I have impressed myself, I always enjoy Dungeon Editor decorating. I started messing around in all the other parts of the game, items, VFX, classes, etc. and I think I found my weakness...the map editor. I guess I need a lot more practice with it, since my map looks pretty basic so far. On a good note, my VFX are looking great for a few of the spells.

It's been forever since I posted on here... But anyway, thought I'd let everyone know that I haven't had time for either the computer or RPGM2 since school started, since I go to school at 8 leave at 5 and then go in to work from 6 to 10. lol. Tight schedule. Game's at the same place it was last time I posted...

I feel ya there. I'm still trying to get moved in and to help my girlfriend get her room set up, so I haven't had much time either. Ves and I have done some work on the message board, but other than that, there hasn't been much.

It's great to hear from you again. I, and many others, were wondering about your mysterious vanishment. And what about this game? Is it still on?

The game's definately still on, just not in progress for awhile still most likely. The only thing that's in progress for awhile now is school and work.

Good news, and bad news...Which do you want to hear first?
The good news, aye? Well, I picked up the ol' PS2 controller for the first time in forever, and played around on RPGM2 making the basic idea of a future game. So I might be getting into it, if I get some time again.
The bad news...in the short period of time I managed to accidently save over my game that I had been working on before. So now I'm starting from scratch. lol. Pissed me off, but not enough to take away my motivation for creating a new game. Going to keep the same gameplay, and still trying to incorporate some of my story ideas, although it's going to be a different story.

After such a long time period, starting over can sometimes be easier than trying to figure out what the hell you had going on before, unless you were really far in the game, which would just suck horribly.
So I'm sorry you over-wrote your former save, but in the long run, it may not be such a bad thing.

That's what I was thinking too. Each game attempt's a learning experience that will make your next game's gameplay better and more organized, at least that's what's happened to me. I am sorry for your loss though, but I'm also glad to hear it won't end your game making. Anyways, keep us updated on your progress and post some story or gameplay stuff when you can!

Doan and Solemn are probably right. lol. I would have probably been pretty lost after a...uhh...9 month? absence. Oh well, progress will be much slower than it was back then, but at least I put like an hour every week in. haha. Oh well, next week's the end of the semester, so maybe I'll get some more time in on it.
