completed Rya, Rya Cavern, working on Lyt and Lyt Mine, then i go back to some towns and design events that happen at night, then do a few more Lyt events, then do the final dungeon, then do the final boss!!!! ;D yay, i'm so happy! but i'm leaving for vacation on monday! ...so that gives me only a couple of days to finish before i go away. i'll be gone a whole week, and then RPGM3 will come out fairly soon after (i hope, anyway) which means...it'll absorb me!!! it will force me to put aside RPGM2 for a good bit, and it'll make me forget about Kuromei Chronicle!!! NOOOOOO!!! so i gotta finish before RPGM3 comes out! but i'm almost done, so... -the smurf

basically, i just make a town and its people, create the events that happen at the point of the game that your currently at, and move on. then if/when you return to the town later, i just make the new events then... and i make items, enemies, party members and stuff as i go instead of "do all the items, then the enemies, then the party, then the game". makes it easier for me in the long run. Sorry to dredge up an older comment, but I missed it last time and thought I'd offer up a FAIR WARNING:That's what I did. Then, after my game almost filled the card I broke it in half and deleted a bunch of stuff so I had two chapters. Now I have to throw it all away and start again because after that... I got good with the VFX Editor. I now have a bunch of really cool VFX in one half of my game (for abilities and more) that I can not duplicate in the other. For your own sanity, especially if you plan on entering this in the pavilion's contest, get good with the VFX Editor now and finish all the graphics you will need in both halves because it is nearly impossible to recreate effects exactly. I found that the subtle differences in the two versions were more annoying than all new effects would have been. Anyway... I advise getting abilities and graphics and anything else that takes a ton of memory, but needs to be in both halves, ready first. Of course I am assuming your game will grow, or already has grown, to more than one memory block's worth of memory... if so, having your visuals and battle system stuff in place and just deleting everything else is vital to proper planning when making a second chapter for your game. If not then none of this matters for your purposes. Just consider it a social call then. Peace

actually, call me lazy if you want, but i stick with the preset VFX and battle system, and can't seem to break that 3 and 1/2 hour limit i seem to have on my games. so really, i don't need to worry too much... thanks for being concerned tho also, i'm happy to say that all i have left is the second inn event in Lyt, and then the final dungeon and boss. i'll be gone a whole week starting tomorrow tho. but i'll be working on ideas for Spirit Saga, so at least i'll be doing SOMEthing. -the smurf

and i'm back! miss me?
yeah, i thought up some random blobs for SS, but that doesn't belong here...anyway, i got back to work on KC and did the last inn event and designed the final dungeon (small, only 2 rooms). all i have left is the final boss and one other member joining the party that wasn't in the written story (just so you have 4 people to take the final boss on with). so hopefully i'll be done sometime this week or next.

Wow.
Three Cheers and a Tiger for You!
I expected a wave of finished games around now (Pavilion contest and all), but from what I read here I didn't think you were that close to done.
Congratulations!
I'll be a while getting to playing it, but will download and save it when posted. I'll trey to play the beginning and give some feedback too.
I'm actually getting busy with my other project and wont have large amounts of time to play other people's games if I want to get an entry in the contest too.

i decided that since i was so close to finishing and i really didn't want to attempt anything complicated, i didn't do a CCS...thanks for the help, though, cause i may use one for my next Chronicle...if i make an idea for it...
i did modify the default camera tho, it is now at a lower angle and zoomed in further. i'll see about uploading soon, and try to host the game myself if i can. i finished the guide, and will post that very soon, even if i don't get the game up.
actually, i think i'll post it now.

so i'm taking a break from RPGM3 and Spirit Saga to return to my favorite creation, KC. i've gotten inspiration to create some custom tunes, and i figured i'd make some neato map music. with what i know about guitar (chords, scales, harmonies, etc) and drums (beats, fills, structure, etc), it should be a pretty easy job. i'll probably zip it and post it when i'm done as an updated version, but the only update will be the custom songs. so far i have one near completion, one written but not made, and then 3 others that still need to be thought up. so that's what i'm currently working on. -the smurf

And another one puts RPGM3 down!
Will anyone ever finish a game on that thing without taking a break to work wuth RPGM2?
I look forward to the updated version. I am still waiting to get a weekend with enough play time to get back to playing stuff from here. If you update one be sure to post so I can replace the one I have.
Peace.

If you're still interested in a CCS, I can try to track down my FAQ (it might be on my computer somewhere), or just write a new one. Update: A new version of my CCS FAQ is now available on the Domain website. Right now, it's in .txt format, so in order to make it wrap, you might have to save it to the desktop as a .txt file and then open it with notepad and turn word wrap on. For some reason, IE6 renders .txt files without a word wrap option (unless I just don't know about it). If there's enough interest, I can convert it to HTML and make it look nice, but that will take some time, and if no one really cares, there's not much reason to do it.

i might as well do a CCS, since i'm updating and all...i think i have enough info on the CCS (is it in this topic?) to make a decent one, but if i need anything i'll check out the faq.
update: i made 1 completed song, 1 near completion, 1 that i think is done (but maybe not), and 2 that i still need to make.
so far they're just 4 measures repeated, but i'll try to be more creative in the future.

If there's enough interest, I can convert it to HTML and make it look nice, but that will take some time, and if no one really cares, there's not much reason to do it. All you need to do is put the text in a table. Add these three lines to the top <table width=100%> <tr> <td> And make </table> your last line. Then save it as an HTML file and it will word wrap. I already tested it and it works. Ya doesn't even gots ta close the row or data remarks (no </tr> or </td> needed). If you want I'll send you the modified file so you don't have to do even that trivial amount of work. Peace.

I look forward to the updated version. I am still waiting to get a weekend with enough play time to get back to playing stuff from here. If you update one be sure to post so I can replace the one I have. don't bother waiting. i have no idea when it'll be done, and the game itself isn't changing at all. the only difference will be music and maybe a CCS. so unless music and a CCS really make that much of a difference, you shouldn't bother waiting. -the smurf edit: btw, i've now got 3 completed songs, and just gotta make 2 more.

Sorry, rodak, but that won't work, because I'd have to add br tags to the end of every line. Pressing enter is ignored when rendered in html. Like I said, if there's enough interest, I have no problem doing an html conversion (it would take about a half hour), but it doesn't sound like anyone really has any use for it anyways. Of course, the easier thing to do would be to just edit the .txt file and add endline characters at the end of every line. I think I'll go do that now...
Oh, and to Lord Onikuro: the CCS FAQ is now updated, as I removed a script that I deemed no longer necessary. If you haven't started on your CCS, or you're less than halfway through, I really suggest checking out my FAQ because the entire coding for a complete camera system will take around a half hour or less. Converting your current maps to be compatible with it will take about a minute per map (or less).

Sorry, rodak, but that won't work, because I'd have to add br tags to the end of every line. Pressing enter is ignored when rendered in html. Man, I haven't used HTML for so long I forgot that. The file I made is one big paragraph! But at least it doesn't run off screen. Sorry, old man mistake. And Smurf... Halloween isn't for a couple weeks! Whats with all the name changes? Identity crisis? Or just promoting your game's characters? Isn't this the third one? I guess that was a bad attempt at not straying too far from topic. Sorry. Peace.

And Smurf... Halloween isn't for a couple weeks! Whats with all the name changes? Identity crisis? Or just promoting your game's characters? Isn't this the third one? far from the third one... let's see...i've been: -smurf90 (registered name) -Demon Death Smurf (Hitou's demonic army era) -Lord Genesis (promoting GC's antagonist) -Celestial Darkness (for some odd reason) -Smurf 'N' Turf (see above) -Fluffy the Bunny (my longest running, promoting my comics) -Dreig Wilde (very short-lived, promoting SS) -Lord Onikuro (promoting SS's antagonist) sometimes i just feel i need a change. ;D oh, and just to stay on topic here (even though it's my own topic), i think i've finished the custom musics, and i'll see about working on a CCS maybe tonight or tomorrow, whenever i get more time. (working on a science report as we speak...) -the smurf

i like it...i have no problems with it, everything runs smooth, etc. it was surprisingly easy to do.
i would do a clock system if time wasn't so vital to the storyline that i have to control it myself...
so yeah, now i just need to think of what i wanna do next, if anything.

okay, i got an idea... YOU PEOPLE will tell me what else to do in my updated version. so when/if you play my game, any time you come across something you think should be fixed, redone, removed, or have an idea for me to add, let me know in the feedback topic and i'll see what i can do. this makes it easier on me, and funner (yes, funner) for you. -the smurf

well so much for the "you decide what to update" thing...but i will still take suggestions if i get any. i've put the updated version (CCS and custom music) up on my site ( www.chroniclegames.com ), so if you haven't already played it, you should replace it with this one -the smurf
