first of all, why did i have to re-sticky my stuff?
anyway, at the time of the demo's release, this was what i had:
-intro storyteller -azured -agatha's house -agatha storyteller -blanche -godfrey storyteller -ruto trail -loche stroyteller -loche (boss battle) -cyanne region
now, i have this:
-intro storyteller -azured -agatha's house -agatha storyteller -blanche -godfrey storyteller -ruto trail -loche stroyteller -loche (boss battle) -cyanne region -cyanne -forest clearing -helena storyteller -cave of trials -cyanne mayor storyteller -ryuko storyteller -ryuko (boss battle) -noir
and now i'm working on the city of marrona.
i may release a second demo after i finish marrona, but i don't know. if i do, it'll be the last demo until the final game comes out.
that's all i got so far, but i'm working constantly. the actual written story is coming along, too. i think i'm about halfway done that!

well, moving right along... -intro storyteller -azured -agatha's house -agatha storyteller -blanche -godfrey storyteller -ruto trail -loche stroyteller -loche (boss battle) -cyanne region -cyanne -forest clearing -helena storyteller -cave of trials -cyanne mayor storyteller -ryuko storyteller -ryuko (boss battle) -noir -marrona -vert (beat up city, one person...) -shrine of azule and now i'm working on konkotsu's storytellers and battles. the way i'm doing things, basically there is no experience, and you level up after every boss fight. each character gains a new skill/magic/ability at every level, so you won't find yourself using the same skills over and over. my story's coming along nicely...i know how i'm going to wrap it up, but its the whole doing it that seems to be the problem. lately i've been busy and too tired to write (still been rpg making, though) so since i have off tomorrow (rosh hashanah [sp?]) i'll probably write some more tonight. i just don't wanna have my game overtake my writing...but with the way things are going, it just might. oh, and i've found a way of taking screen shots...so i'll be going back through my other two games (plus this one) and taking some for posting on the web. as soon as i finish my written story, i plan on getting a separate site for Chronicle Games. so, that's what i've been up to. i'll be working my tail off to get that story done, meantime i'll be taking some shots of my games and then finally getting a new site up for my stuff... -the smurf

I just bought a book called 'the 3 am epiphany' that has alot of writing exercises to teach you to write proficiently even when not 'feeling it'. i really suggest it. another thing is to force yourself to write every day, for at least 15 minutes. the story is only at its best when you are thinking about the next step while grocery shopping.

hmmm, i may have to look into that in the future.
right now, though, i'm not actually writing seriously, like for publishing or anything. the story is mainly for my reference while making the game, and also for entertainment for whoever wants to read it. i wrote quite a bit today, and am actually sort of close to being done. it's only about 46 pages and probably won't be much more than 50 when done, but whatever.
so yeah, that sounds like it may help for future writing, when i'm actually writing seriously. i'll look into things like that when the time comes. thanks ;D
also, since i'm right here, i might as well update:
-intro storyteller -azured -agatha's house -agatha storyteller -blanche -godfrey storyteller -ruto trail -loche stroyteller -loche boss battle -cyanne region -cyanne -forest clearing -helena storyteller -cave of trials -cyanne mayor storyteller -ryuko storyteller -ryuko boss battle -noir -marrona -vert (beat up city, one person...) -shrine of azule -konkotsu storyteller -konkotsu boss battle -cavern
and then my next step is a boss battle in the cavern and then a scene at agatha's house.
i'll probably do some screens sometime soon, so look forward to that in the future (maybe by the end of the week) (for all 3 games)

well, i guess this counts as progress:
Spirit Saga story is finished. done writing, now i just have to proofread. then i'll use a floppy to get it on this comp and then i'll upload it to my site.
i did also make some progress in my game, too. i finished the cavern's boss's storyteller and fight setup.

yay! completed the agatha event, and i also made the field for the next region. i did the storyteller that leads you to the next region, but i still gotta make it an event.
haven't had a chance to work on it today tho, cause i gotta finish Beowulf by the end of the week (good book so far, btw)
that and with the PSATs coming up tomorrow, i'm kinda busy. but once the weekend starts, then i'll probly get rollin again.

Aww man, the PSATs. Thank you PSATs! Seriously, I did really good on the PSAT my junior year (99.5 percentile), and it qualified me for a National Merit scholarship. A couple essays and recommendation letters and a good SAT score later (1500), and Ohio State pays for my tuition and $4500 extra per year, all thanks to a good score on the PSAT.
So the moral of the story is, give it your best shot, because you might be rewarded for it down the road.
Back on topic, I'm glad to hear your game is coming along well. The progress that you and others are making makes me want to buy RPGM3, if only to play your games.

heh, thanks for the encouragement...it actually was pretty easy. the writing was the easiest bit, especially because i didn't actually have to write... a couple of the math questions threw me off...like: if x^10=5555, and (x^5)/y=5, the what is the value of xy? only cause the answers i got looked totally wrong...plus there was stuff from like early geometry like the length of an arc which i totally forgot. other than that, tho, i think i did okay. anyway, i have off tomorrow (yom kippur[sp?]) so i'll probably work on my game sometime tonight and tomorrow. -the smurf

The thing about the SATs no one told me before I took them was that they don't simply look to see how well you studied old crap (like the arc thing you said), but rather it's more of a test that actually sees how quick and smart you are (at figuring stuff out) and that studying old stupid little things like that arc thing is pointless. The vocab is the exception to this statement. Back on topic, it's glad to hear you're making good progress - especially since progress is a rare thing for most people.

If you need motivation, try listening to this www.nlpweekly.com/?p=290It's a subliminal audio that will help to motivate you. Just think of the goal you want to be more motivated to do and grasp on to it while you listen. I don't know if it will be any help to you, but if you listen to it every day for 20 minutes for 21 days, it may do wonders. It may even work sooner than you may think.

hehe, well, i decided that if i want to get to SS2, then i gotsta finish SS1 (not that i have anything against ss1, it's all RPGM3's fault!), so i got some more work done on that:
-intro storyteller -azured -agatha's house -agatha storyteller -blanche -godfrey storyteller -ruto trail -loche stroyteller -loche boss battle -cyanne region -cyanne -forest clearing -helena storyteller -cave of trials -cyanne mayor storyteller -ryuko storyteller -ryuko boss battle -noir -marrona -vert (beat up city, one person...) -shrine of azule -konkotsu storyteller -konkotsu boss battle -cavern -naku and kador storyteller -naku and kador boss battle -second agatha event -airship dock -lorae -yohiko storyteller -yohiko boss battle -vella -vella NPC storyteller
and now i'm working on the Oro Mountain Trail dungeon. once i'm done that, everything should be downhill. i'm almost done, i guess.
also, i'm going to the post office tomorrow to register mail my games' stuff, so i should get the chronicle games site up and running shortly after (you know me...i'll have it up an hour after i get back ;D).
so, that's what i've been up to lately.

OH MY GOD WHEN WILL I BE DONE?!?! it's gotten to the point where its painful to keep working with RPGM3. i just want to be done my game. of course, i have nothing against my story, just the tool i'm using. i'd say i'm about 80% done the game, and hopefully i'll finish it within the next week or two. as for actual updates, well, i've completed the Oro Mountain Trail and the boss inside, and now i'm working on the next boss inside the following town. then, i'll just have to make one more simple cave, another boss, a new party member, and the final boss (with a couple towns and a dungeon thrown in) and i'll be finished. ehh, maybe you'll want to play it, maybe you'd rather read the story instead. either way i'll be happy. btw, i'll put up the new site as soon as i get the certified mail envelope (end of the week, maybe?) -the smurf

...mmkay...
i *think* i'm done. i'm pretty sure i've fixed everything and done all the little stuff.
so tomorrow and probably this week i'll be playing through to make 100% sure that i'm done.
then i'll be able to put it up on my site...well, after i play a little hide-and-seek with my maxdrive.

12:51 Eastern Standard Time, and i just beat Spirit Saga.
started around...six? keep in mind i had to stop for dinner, trash duty, and Two and a Half Men at nine, and plus i spent probably a good fifteen minutes racking my brain over a freaking bug i found. a town won't open when it's supposed to...bad! i think i fixed it, but i don't feel like going through and checking tonight.
so that should give you an idea of how long the game is. also keep in mind i had to make sure all the towns and events functioned right, too.
so...maybe...tomorrow i can get the thing up? maybe? something like that...no guide for this one, but i will list some tips and secrets for you...later...
anyway, i just spent a good six or seven hours debugging my game, so i'm tired as hell. good thing i gots off tomorrow for election day (?), or else i'd be pretty screwed.
'night all!

www.chroniclegames.comSpirit Saga is now available for download. like i said, this will probably be the only game i make for RPGM3, unless i get some sort of inspiration. anyway, Spirit Saga is officially released, and anyone who plays it can use this topic as the feedback topic cause i dont wanna make a new topic. have fun... ;D -the smurf

Congratulations on finishing! Unfortunately, I don't plan on getting RPGM3, so I probably won't be able to play it. I eagerly await reviews on it, though, so when someone plays it, please let us all know what you think.

no guide for this one, but i will list some tips and secrets for you well, here they are: -take full advantage of heal points in dungeons -you rarely have to use the inn (i never did) because all bosses heal you before and after the fight -there are three treasure chests in Marrona -many of the NPCs are pointless and don't need to be talked to (especially those at the end, except they provide some comic relief), so you don't need to talk to everyone in town like you did in my other games -the Ruto Trail and Cave of Trials may make you want to kill either me or yourself, so prepare...but they are the only dungeons that are that bad -listen to the storytellers; they're there for a reason -items are more important than equipment: see the next few for examples -although you can, you never really need to upgrade your weapons (i never did) -blow off the shield shop unless you have a ton of money (don't even think of buying the Demon Shield [or whatever i called it]) that should keep you covered for now. -the smurf

the story of Spirit Saga has been put up. so, for anyone who doesn't have enough time to play the game but does have enough time to read a story that is equivalent to 55 pages in Microsoft Word, this is for you. check it out if you want. www.chroniclegames.com-the smurf
