The sounds interesting so far, though I cannot say much without knowing anything about the story.
I for one never found the character proportions annoying, but I look forward to seeing on how you made them look.
Best of luck to your game, I look forward to seeing more.

Isn't it amazing how things go when you pick up a blank file after banging your head against another one for an extended period?
I know when I put down The Quest and started Videogamedrome for a break, progress went amazingly fast.
I look forward to a demo (and providing your screenshots & mpg files).
Peace.

I'm drooling already
My only concern is whether or not you might be over extending yourself with all the planned features. Will all that fit in one save file?
This makes me extremely motivated to get back to work on my own game.
And thanks for the props.

Oh, I've already made everything but the story, cutscenes, dungeons, etc., and with the memory I have left after all my full databases I definitely have enough. And thank you for the interest. I guarantee the story will sat-is-fy!!!!

This sounds really good. Can't wait to see your latest creation. Video demos and screenshots would be very welcome.

That's easy enough to do whenever the game is ready for it preview material.
Peace.

I finally made myself go through the uncrushing process to play your game, and I say it was well worth it. I enjoyed your opening intro alot! Cinematics were very well made too, everything from camera work to character dialogue is very well done, and great job on the characters, I really was interested in them.
My only problem with the demo is that it all ended too soon! Even though the demo came with that warning, I guess what I am trying to say is, I am really looking forward to the finished product, keep up the great work.

Thank you so much Bigfoot721!!! Yeah, I definitely think it's better than Paladin, mainly for the more original characters/story and actionous moments. Thank you for playing it, and for posting here!! Yay!!

? Actionous is a very Shpadoinkle word! Watch for your screen shots and mpg this weekend! (that was just to avoid this being viewed as spam) (I originally just posted a "?")

Since I played through your demo to make your mpg files (They're posted!! In their own thread yet... right here in the "Paladin Boards" ... Go see!), I may as well post a review here.
Very well done!
I am impressed with the ammount of custom crappe in there.
Nice Cut scenes. Good use of facial expressions and camera work.
The rooms were full enough to be interesting, but not too busy.
My only complaint is from the point of view of the guy making the promo video.
During the last fight I had a new ability I could not demo for the mpg file because of lack of "MP" (I forget what you called it). There should have been another "MP" item handy for the demo.
But that is only a complaint from a marketing point of view. The game is well balanced (something I have yet to master...).
Looking forward to more.
Peace.

i just played the demo today (cause i finally have my maxdrive again...) and i have to say it was really good. the cutscenes were extremely well done and the edited battle system worked nicely.
like rodak said, the use of camera and facial expressions was great. i didn't play around long enough to listen to all the music, but the ones i heard (first three?) were done well. congratulations and keep up the good work!
;D

This game is on my list of games to play, whenever I get my MaxDrive. I have the money, but it's so difficult to find.

Thanks everyone!! I'm just posting to let you know that I'm still working on this and it's going well. I've really done a lot since the demo, and want to post another one, but I'm still a ways away from where I want the next demo to end. The next demo will be pretty long, at least for a demo, I'd estimate about 1.5 to 2.5 hours. I re-balanced a lot of stuff, and in doing so fixed Rodak's complaint. Basically, defending nets you 3 V a turn, making it MUCH easier to use more V-costly moves. I'm also REALLY glad I decided not to have level-ups, because (to give enough incentive to use more V-costly moves) I had to change the attack power of abilities. For example, Castor's ultimate Extreme does 1140% damage to one enemy, which is insanely powerful. Yeah, I think this game will be easy no matter what. Anyways, things are going VERY well.

Well, I've only got one more cutscene and a little shop stuff left to do, then I'm ready for the final demo. This demo should be the best demo of any game yet, because the story wraps up quite nicely but still leaves you on the edge of your seat wondering what's next. You'll see what I mean when you play it. The last cutscene's real long, but I'm estimating I'll be done in about one week. The gameplay's fully-tested and entirely bug-free, and I've even tested extensively for difficulty - acting like a player who didn't know what he was doing (aka. not me/you). I would estimate it'll take you around 1.5 to 2.5 hours to finish it, with 2 hours being about normal. It's about one-half or three-fifths cutscenes, too. This game's clearly about the story, so I HIGHLY recommend you play through it all in one sitting (strong mood and a lot of story). Also, Rodak, thanks again for the awesome videos and pics you made of the last demo. This time around, I'd like you to only do pics. I'll write down the shots I want and send them to you once I'm done with the demo. Yay! ;D

I'll have RPGM2 time this weekend!
If you can send the file I can get to it then.
I have been overwhelmingly busy lately, so it may be a couple weeks after this before I get another chance.
Fair warning! Try to get even an unfinished demo over by Saturday and I'll get to it Sunday Morning (My scheduled Playtime!) (If I do not schedule it, I don't get Playtime these days...).

I'll have the whole setup in one room for the whole weekend.
But the best time for me to work on it would be very early Sunday Morning (when I say very early I mean when I get up... around 3 AM).
So if you can have it ready anytime Saturday, that would be ideal.
I'll try to get back to it later on Sunday, but I may get distracted by real life.
Ugh.
Real Life...

I'm sorry everybody, Rodak, I've been working heavily on it but this last cutscene's going to WAY longer than I thought . Expect the new, final demo in two or three weeks. I know you said to just send you an incomplete one, Rodak, but I'd rather not because I want you to get the full experience from it too. Sorry!

All right. I know it's been a while since anyone posted in this topic, but I've played through your demo. Very nice job. The cutscenes were wonderful. The use of the camera and facial expressions made me forget that I was even playing a demo made with RPGM2. The battle system was a lot better than that crappy, unmodified DBS that all the default stuff is used for. I loved how the dungeon was very interactive. You can look through drawers, pick up items on the ground, etc. And your map from Paladin looked very realistic. Great custom music! I liked Happyville (correct name?) a lot. It's a great song for a town or village. I only have two complaints. One (and I know this has been mentioned before) was with how long it took for you to get Vigor. Once I got my Extreme, I had to wait 5 turns or so to use it. The other one is that it was too short. Now I'm all hyped up for your game and all I get is a really short dungeon with fun battles and great cutscenes. You've really got me hooked. Anyway, great job! Keep up the good work, and release another demo soon.
