"Anything worth fighting for is worth dying for."
(Edit: Since this a progress report, this topic will of course contain spoilers. I'll try to warn you independently about most of them as opposed to barring people from the topic out of risk.)
Hey, after a large amount of frustration with my email account I'm now finally able to join this site. Here's hoping that this topic is more popular than it was on the Agetec board. I already have my previous work in this topic (http://p068.ezboard.com/fagetecfrm20.showMessage?topicID=2346.topic). Comments, ratings, and tips are encouraged along the way and I give a warm thank you to those who do provide such help. Here is a bit of information on some of the classes featured in the game.
Psychic/Chi
Stages:
Members: Neil, Aark, Tsang, Terra,
Chi is one of the most ancient forms of energy control, called by the ignorant as magic. The art of Chi is the science in which one collects energy and atoms from their body, spirit, and surroundings. Due to early studies during the Middle Ages founded by Amzer Strife the commonly used term, “spirit energy” has been coined (though there have been psychics for an untold amount of time truly scientific institutes didn’t actually begin to study its primitive types until the late 20th century of the old world (ours)). Chi is actually a spectral science, encompassing the arts of healing, elemental control, and pure chi. The term “psychic” is most often associated with pure Psi control in the old world, the most primitive of the three. Psi is the summoning of spirits, the ability to project energy into solid objects, the emitting of pure energy (first used to harness energy from the sun), and the ability to create a destructive force out of energy and atoms (the first recording of this use was in the launch of the atomic bomb during the 20th century). Nuclear fission is a popular military method.
Chi powers are often inherited and seem to disappear as one ages, losing closeness to the planet. Those with Psi often report seeing such things as ghost and demons but these cases were once often dismissed as an active imagination and in adults and teens, schizophrenia. Untrained psychics can often tell if a loved one’s in danger and some can even read minds. This can be done as organisms with advanced thought emit waves. These waves can be felt by those with sharp senses (psychics) and when there’s an absence of a loved one’s wave it confirms that their brains are no longer active. This should be mistaken with instances in which spirits visit their loved one’s before their departure. Any one can detect a spirit as long as they emit enough energy. This can cause exhaustion and possibly destruction (yes, someone who lacks a physical body is still alive and are only considered truly dead once they’ve either passed over or all of their energy has escaped into the environment. Ghosts are composed of both energy and somewhat rapidly moving atoms to bind the form together, stopping it from quickly.
As long as the soul and brain are intact it’s possible to revive someone from the dead within the first few minutes of their demise, though this requires a large amount of skill. Revival of passed spirits and bodies is a very taboo subject within the community.
Dark Knight
Paladin
Stages: Squire-Trainee-Knight<
Dark Knight
Members: Aark
A dark knight is a warrior with professional government training but lacks a liege for some reason or another. Dark knights caused much trouble to the Empire during the Middle Ages, earning them the term, “Dark”, referring to evil, using this being a good form of propaganda of course. In order for a warrior to become a dark knight the government in question must first adopt a form of knighthood (generally the training system as seen in our knights).
Dark knights commonly use their own brand of magic known as quikong. Though quikong once referred to all forms of chi it later evolved into its current meaning. Quikong is when the user harnesses the energy in or around an opponent to relieve them of their senses. There is an old legend of a pure warrior who defeated a powerful quikong user through her immunity though once he killed the user he later lost his sight due to the loss of her innocence. This legend was of course created before the science around the subject was found; when it was believed that the negative energy around a person was harnessed.
Wizard/ Witch
Wizard-Sorcerer
Stages- Student-Apprentice<
Witch-Sorceress
Members- Terra
Members of this class are able to control the elements and they follow the same identification manner as alchemists. Elements are divided into hotness, coldness, dryness, and wetness. Water is both moistness and coldness, fire is hotness, wind is coldness, earth is dryness, and fire is hotness and dryness. Though witchcraft was once practiced in barbaric cults, thought of as magic, it’s now taught in many schools across the country, most notably in the city of Antropos. Grimories and practical skill exams are commonly performed. The flying broom is actually myth and is commonly believed to be incapable of any scientific backing by scholars. Wizardy is the most diverse type of chi control and various “spells” are executed through very different manners, though mostly through the manipulation of the speed of atoms as opposed to the pure release of energy. Fire is done through the acceleration of surrounding atoms, water usually through the deceleration of water molecules in its gaseous state, earthquake is used through the sending of energy through the ground, and ice is done through the extreme deceleration of H2O molecules. Summoning is also taught and summons have the ability of mitosis, the clone fusing into the original when needed.
