This is a placeholder for a moment, as I still have quite a bit of organizing to do, and some rethinking of how I want things to work, now that I have a much better grip on how things work in RPGM2. I think the time off from RPGM2 has really allowed me to approach this renewed again.
So expect this to be the general place to see updates.
Probably by the end of the week I'll have up some status on what was working and I'm keeping, and what I plan on doing. I'll probably make two threads for general info on the game. One for story and one for gameplay.

Well I've been slowly getting back into things, as last night I went through and made sure my world was completely navigable by boat . Some map editor issues made it impossible to get around Libraco, which is where the boat will mainly be used, and to get to Prawn. After that you will have the Jet so you won't really need the boat anymore, unless you just like sea travel. As you can see, Neaoch and Mystica are the only ones fully textured. Other than that I've been working on getting the Database finished (Direct effects take forever and there are like 180 of them). Also I've been working on my file system project a bit, and trying to truly get my life organized, as I do need to get a job at some point, since I really want to live by myself for a while. But I'm still not sure whether I want to go back to school to get a Masters, or just get a normal job for a while and work on getting to know people in the game industry, and keep on top of the latest languages and such used in it.

Yeah still not really anything to update about. Been busy working on a friends website, and learning wxWidgets (UI Library for C++). All I've made the VFX for my main menu, and will get to the actual selection process soon. I've been thinking abit about the story, though I really don't have any updates I want to share yet, as I want people to play through the first part (which of course I still have to create).
But first I'm going to start working on figuring out what scripts, and variables are used where, so I don't run into any problems with those. I'll try and come up with something video worthy over the next week. Probably my custom menu.

Well as usual life gets in the way, especially when one goes through life not really sure what the next step will be (mainly because at this point I have no idea what I really want to start doing). So it will probably be a while before I can work on my game again. Right now I've been learning a lot about PHP and web development in general, mainly just because I like programming and learning new things. However I am still without a job as I am not sure what I really want to do at the moment. But over the next couple of months I plan on doing a lot of talking with my career counselors at my college, and see whether it would be more advantageous for me to go back to school or what kind of jobs are available in my area. In the meantime I have revamped my website www.thetruecoolness.com as I can now use PHP and don't have to rely on just Javascript. So I like the new style it has taken, and plan on updating it with something once a week or so. I'm still maintaining my friends website, and will be working on some scripts so he can update the site himself. That site is www.nuclearpoweredtoaster.com for those who haven't seen it. It also got a face lift in the past month or so thanks to the artist. I've also been working on a chat room written using PHP and AJAX that is integrated with a phpBB board and plan on releasing it in the next couple of months as an official MOD. Also wrote some code to put spoiler tags into a phpBB board, since a couple of the boards I frequent have been saying it would be nice to have those. So this is what I have been up to besides working on my game, that and Judging some RPG Maker 1 games for the new Pav contest. So who knows when my game will come out, but probably within the next 2 years .

Yeah phpBB takes a pretty long time to learn since there are so many files, and some of it is a mess. But yeah the chat is fully functional just want to add some features that the one on the mag has that is flash based, like multiple chat rooms, private messaging, and admin abilities like Ban and gag. Also I need to figure out why the chat files aren't filling up all the way, not a huge deal but something that shouldn't be happening. And I need to add in an admin panel for the chat to phpBB and have delete a chat user entry if the forum member is deleted. So some minor stuff but things that might take a while, since doing anything in phpBB usually requires editing at least 6 files. I looked at your chat and it looks pretty good. So how much of it did you copy from Doan, . Haha, it looks good though. So are you going to keep coding or is this just a passing fancy for you.

Im learning advanced PHP now, the chat was a structure from a tut, I did all the preg_replaces for UBBC codes and whatnot as for name colors. And lol, I can't copy doan's his is much different from mine. But yeah I plan to make a chat like yours soon. I got the basic idea, but will look into it more.

The site looks good: very slick. Not much else to say, really, other than I hope you find a career doing what you like. I would say that based on some of the Web Programming you have done so far, you should have a pretty good start to a resume. If you enjoy what you're doing right now, why not go into site design or some similar endeavor?
