It's been quite some time since I've posted. I still check the boards every day, but as little has been going on I've really had nothing much to contribute. So, I'd like to fill in everyone who's interested on what I've been up to, and what to expect in the future.
To start off, I'm at a road block with my music recording. Aurora Borealis has been next to impossible to record, due mainly to limitations in the software I'm using, as well as the complexity of the song. I may skip it and record the others, but I haven't decided yet.
Second, just to throw this out there, Seraphim will probably be discontinued. My abilities with RPGMXP have far exceeded Seraphim's most redeeming features, and I've pretty much lost interest in it. So don't expect anything in that department any time soon.
The Chronicle Series is still on hiatus. I haven't touched the console makers in a long time, but I'm not going to cancel SS2 or The Final Chronicle yet. These are still the active projects on the console makers. If I ever get back to them, I will make sure to mention it.
Now to FBOP, my favorite and more than likely my best project. I refuse to cancel it, but I haven't worked on it since around Christmastime (if I remember correctly). The problem with FBOP is this: though my ideas about free will vs. fate have not changed (nor will they), many of the characters in the story are based on people or things in my personal life. Of course, things change. People who don't matter to you may suddenly become very important, and others who you thought you could never live without are suddenly nobody. Since the start of the project my personal life has changed quite a bit, and as a result I don't feel as connected to the characters as I did. I still feel very strongly about the storyline, though. I don't know how long it will take, but I still intend to finish the game. I just thought I'd explain why progress has been vitually nonexistent.
This brings me to my final update. I have been trying as hard as I can to keep quiet, knowing that I have serious problems with seeing a project from start to finish without losing interest. But, I've decided to speak. For whatever reason I've become more interested in reading than I ever have been before. Now, I used to write quite a bit, as you know. Examples are the short story version of Spirit Saga and the three chapters of NeoSenshi that I've completed. But ever since we started reading Dubliners in English class I've decided to try something much different. So I began writing a story set in modern times about ordinary people. Its tentative title is Snow Globes, and I'm about 7/10 of the way done. I knew going into this, unlike any of my other projects, that I would have a hard time making something long and involved and that if I tried I would never finish. Therefore, I decided to write until I had nothing left to say, with no regard to the length of the story. So far I've written 70 pages and am still actively involved, working on it practically every night. For the first time since the end of Spirit Saga, I actually expect to finish this project.
So that's what I've been up to. I'm going to try to finish the first draft of Snow Globes over the summer and see where it goes from there. In the meantime, I don't really know what will happen to FBOP or the Chronicle Series. I will, however, post any updates that I have, when I have them.
Sorry for the long post, but I felt I was obligated to explain my "absence" from posting. Thanks for reading. ;D
