Well like it says I am new to the game and can't quite understand how the programs in it work and was hopeing you guys could help me in some way get me on my feet. Also if this is a repost I apologize I did search, but did'nt see anything resembling my question.

Thank you so much and I'm aware of this I just hope I can get good at it. I'm still unsure what type of game I should start out makeing for my first game.

It is best to make a short silly game. don't try to make an epic adventure right away.

well that has been over done. But anything that will teach you how to use the map editor, character creation, dungeon editor, scripting and events. Something with like say one or two towns, and a single dungeon will do. If you want an idea as to what can be done with the dungeon and map editors check out my thread sword of vengeance in the creativity section. You'll have to go through a couple of pages cause I have posted a lot of pictures of my game on it.
