I've decided to start a collaborative project. It's called the "Cutscene Workshop" and here's how it works:
I've created a brief cutscene with a couple of different characters (you can see their names if you look in the Events editor or Character Model editor). I'm not going to go into much detail about the story (considering how short it is), but another member of the board will receive the file via a PM and they have to create their own cutscene (or extend a currently existing cutscene). Then, once their finished, they'll pass the file onto the next person.
Here's how the order will work. Anyone who's interested may post in this topic telling me that they're interested in doing it. Then, starting with the first person who posted in this topic, they'll receive the file and work on a cutscene.
Once their finished, they'll give the file to the next person on the list (the second person who posted). It keeps going in that order until we reach the last person. Then, they'll send the file back to me and we may or may not begin again in that order.
There's no limit to how many people will want to do this, but I want a minimum of 3-5 people. If we can get that many people by Friday, then we'll start then.
This is meant to be a fun project, so you don't have to be a cutscene genius.
The cutscene can be as funny or serious as you may desire, but try not to steer to far from the story. Feel free to add more dungeons/maps/characters as you want. Also, I'd appreciate it if it was left as a movie rather than a game.
Cutscene Workshop List: Doshi Makesuke Dungeon Warden? Bigfoot Rodak? doyleman? RealityBites? Doan the Nado? vespuleth? thetruecoolness? DaBurke?
File is Currently Being Used By: Doshi Makesuke

Well, if I get the file on Friday, I could work on a cut scene over the weekend and send it to the next person by Monday before I head back to school. Once I'm back at school, I won't have access to my PS2, so I'll put my name here on condition that I get to work on it this weekend; otherwise, remove me from the list.

All right, I've added you two to the list. Keep the requests coming! The more people we have, the more interesting it will be.

Wow!
But...
We need Guidelines!
I am a MEMORY PIG with VFX!
Think about how many people will be involved or just set an arbitrary memory use limit.
Else I may surprise you with how fast I can fill a card with graphic storytelling!

I dunno; there'd be SOOO much default stuff you could delete if all you're making's a movie. I guess I'd say just give some VFX memory tips like: Evaluate each "element" of the VFX after you add it. Does it actually improve the VFX? And, is it worth the amount of memory it's consuming? I do this myself. I find many effects (like the Fireworks in the default fire VFX, I think) have somewhat unimportant "element"s in them. Sometimes when I'm making them I'll notice that the "element" I just added is practically worthless, even. I'd love to do this, but I don't think I'd manage to get around to it. I am very curious to see what you guys do though!!! Oh, it might be good to start from the file already with the Cow VFX on it then.

There really isn't that much default stuff left (I always start on Hard mode, rather than staring on Easy and switching to Hard). Plus, we won't be using the Error Messages and that's a good memory eater.
Still, we should be careful with the VFX Editor. You can make a lot of impresive stuff, but it eats up a lot of memory. So far, I've only made 5 VFXs on this thing, so that's not too bad.
But do you think it's a problem that I started it out on Hard mode? Will that be too much on anyone who's signed up so far? Well, seeing most of your works, I can say that it doesn't look like it would, but if it is, let me know.
As for a maximum number of people, I'd say 8-10 people. And if you will be using the VFXs editor, try to make at least 5-8 (just to be fair, because that's how much I made). And try not to use any images (If you must, only 1 or 2 images for the whole project).
Anyway, this is looking pretty good. So does that mean you aren't going to do it, TST? Well, if you want to see it, we aren't going to keep this all to ourselves. As soon as we got enough stuff together, I'll release it out to the RPGM2 public. Well, our first time around the list, I might release a demo, depending on how much impressive stuff we might get.
And if anyone who wants to do this but doesn't post by Friday can still get the chance to do so. As long as we don't reach the 10 person limit, I can still put you on the list.

i'd like to do it, but my time online is seldom AND random, so it couldn't quite work well. however, i think, for laughs, i'll try putting up a cutscene that i'll put in dedication to, and upload it as a file sometime.

I have an idea. If you want to do it, but think you might not have the time, I'll still put your name on the list. When you receive the file and don't think you have the time to do it, you can always pm it to the next person on the list.
Also, if the person receives the file, but hasn't been online for a total of 2 weeks, then the previous person (who should have a back-up file) can just pm it to the next person on the list. You can then let the person know that they've been skipped.
This will, hopefully, keep the project moving faster.
Edit: Also, I've placed a "?" after everyone's names who may not be able to do it. If you want me to remove your name from the list, just let me know.

Reality made that little fountain behind the priest. Thanks, man.
Later on, I'll send the game file to you, DW. Just need to do some last minute tweaking. But you'll still get it today.

All I know is that intro is going to be hard to follow. That was pretty impresive there. After seeing where this goes I might jump in, of course first I need to get going with my game and remember all that scripting and creating goodness, so that way it won't take forever to make a small scene.

Well, I kind of made this scene one day just for fun and I got the idea to go ahead and do the Cutscene Workshop. So, I can see why it's hard to follow. Edit: Well, when I first saw the length of the video, I thought you might have added a short scene . Had no idea it would end up being that long.

Okay. The Cutscene Workshop officially begins now. I've sent a pm to DW. Whenever anyone receives the file to the Cutscene Workshop, pm me letting me know you have it. This will help me to keep track of the file. Also, if you think you can't do it, pm me telling me so and send a pm containing the file to the next person on the list. Anyway, have fun.

Wow, that was freaking amazing. I'd like to add myself to the list, but I so rarely have the time... Oh well, go ahead and throw me on there. It might be a good chance to make my first cutscene (yeah, no kidding!), and if my turn comes up and I'm too busy, I'll be sure to let everyone know, and I'll just pass the file one.

After watching the intro. I think I have a good Idea on what I want to do. Hopefully the direction that DW went in will allow me too.
Let me know soon though if there is a content limit.
