As I posted in the Our Created Games forum, I would like to start a new joint project here. I will basically be the coordinator and do most of the scripting, but I'm asking for help specifically in the areas of map creation, custom music, and the entire story.
The idea will be that I will start a new topic for everyone to give their thoughts on, we'll come to a general consensus about what we like, and then we'll move onto the next thing. The basic structure will be this:
1) World History, Religion, and Politics
2) Characters
3) Key Cities
4) Game Intro
5) Quest Beginnings
6) Key Happenings
7) Game Conclusion
The following two paragraphs are repeated from my other post:
I want this to truly be a project that we can all work on. If everyone who contributes doesn't feel like this is their game, then the project isn't really successful. Please do not slam others' ideas or completely ignore them, but also don't hesitate to point out flaws and make suggestions of your own. Completely different stories are fine, too, as the more varied ideas we get, the better the final product will be. If you decide to help out, please try to keep an open mind and not be hurt if your idea isn't used, or isn't used much.
I don't want this game to be cliche, but I do want it to be "acceptable to a large market". In other words, it should not be entirely satirical, nor should it include entirely inappropriate themes or elements. I expect it to be acceptable to an audience of 13+, so keep that in mind.
If you have anything else I should add to the list of things that we all need to work on, or if you have general comments about the project, please post them here. Everyone who contributes will of course be included in the credits. Each topic above will be a link to a new thread (when the time comes) in which we can discuss each element and how to proceed. To get started, go to the World Background topic now.
