..seeing as how i utilize the boards here and glean them for information, i suppose it would be polite to introduce myself...
my real name is adam and i'm from indianapolis(born Dec. 7th, 1982). i was born here and have lived here most of my life. i enjoy the complex system that is human experience and i owe a lot to the things i can't necessarily see. i love music of all kinds. i also love video games of all kinds, aside from sports titles(there were only a few i liked back in the day of SNES/Genesis).
i enjoy questioning, i enjoy thinking, i enjoy nature, i enjoy the mystic and the spiritual, i love ninjas and i love the modern strider hiryu design. he's probably my favorite video game character along with mukuro/kenji.
i try my best to be a decent human being and live according to what works best: kindness, patience and tolerance.
i guess that about sums it up..
oh, and rpg maker 2 is cool. ;D

I've been hanging around the Domain for long enough, and I probably should have posted here before, but well, here you go...
It's "Island" Jack, because the name is Jack, and when I was 12, I was camping at this place I had been going to every summer since I was 3 (still going there, too, next year will be the 30-year anniversary) and I was trying to hang out with these older, "cool" kids who were probably about 15 or 16 and they had a boat. If I wanted to be in the "gang," I had to go with them to the "haunted island" out in the middle of the lake and steal something from the "haunted" cabin there. Hey, I wanted to be cool, so I went. To make a long story short, they left me on the island. They probably would have come back to get me at some point, but when you're 12, something like this is pretty serious. So, I swam a mile and a half back to shore (I didn't smoke back then and swimming was the only thing I was good at). When I made it back, it was already a big joke in the campground and everybody knew about it and I was sort of cool because I swam a mile and a half without drowning and was instantly dubbed "Island Jack." The name has stuck with me for 20 years. As a side note to this story, it wasn't until after that summer when I saw the movie "Club Paradise" with Robin Williams on HBO and my friends and I were all saying, "Hey, Mork from Ork stole your name for that movie!"
I grew up in Las Vegas but summers were with the grandparents in Central New York State. High School was also in Central NY, but after that, it was back to Nevada. After several failed attempts, college was UCLA film school for 3 years until I realized I hated L.A. and was probably never actually going to get a job in the film industry and transferred to film school at NYU for another 2 years or so. Shortly after graduation and at the beginning of a good long term relationship starting to go bad, I came to the conclusion I couldn't afford to live in New York City and moved back to Central NY. The relationship went completely sour but I had a decent job at a bank and was writing screenplays, a few of which were optioned, supplimenting my income but never acutally were made into movies.
To make an even longer story shorter, I went on my yearly vacation to the Adirondacks and thought, hey, this would be a cool place to live. I quit my job and moved "inside the Blue Line." I lasted for about 2 years until another bad relationship sent me back home to Central NY and I fell into the same routine of being "fat, dumb & happy." Well, I wasn't fat, because I'm a skinny bastard, but you get the point. Life was comfortable, but stagnant.
One day, I saw the movie "Fight Club," and was talking about it at work and this guy overheard me and gave me a copy of the book, which I read. Shortly after this, I "went nuts," like Luke Wilson said in "Bottle Rocket" and I decided to drop off the map. I took a change of clothes and my hammock and moved back to the Adirondacks and haven't left since.
I have a beautiful wife from Athens, Ohio with legs like a Bond Girl and a beagle named "Thirsty" and work both as the caretaker and as the partner in/of an Adirondack estate/retreat, and also as a "jack-of-all-trades" at a local grocery store, handling the less-than-exciting aspects of the meat and produce departments. My wife and I have written, directed and co-produced a gonzo film in the area which is currently being edited into something comprehensible, and have started a production company (Hang Dog Productions) which has, in the last two weeks, signed on to produce a zombie movie to be filmed here this summer.
RPGM2 was a Christmas Gift that was meant to give me something to do during the very long and cold winter up here, especially during those weeks when the temperature doesn't rise above zero, and it has quickly become an obsession of mine.
About the only other thing of interest that I might add is that my sister-in-law lives and works in the Bahamas and we found out this morning that she is getting married this year. This means that we have somewhere free to stay in the Bahamas. I don't know how the name "Island Jack" will go over there, but when they ask "what island?" I can steal a line from "Club Paradise" and say "Ellis." My parents were both born in Poland, so I won't be lying.

edit: woot! profile time!
my name is randy brown. i sometimes wish i were as funny as rodak. im on a lifelong quest to see if i can waste my entire life trying to find something worthwhile to do with it yet never accomplish anything. im a christian. im a progressive conservative. i want to write stories one day. i have a degree in lab science and hate my job. im going to school for english now. i would get a degree in cs, but i hate having people try to teach me what i already know how to do. on that note, i spent some time as a computer programmer, and well, it was far too fulfilling (see my lifelong quest, earlier). when i tell people my major, they usually say 'thats cool...what are you going to do with it?' i dont have an answer for them. i almost got married a while back, and while it still bothers me at times, things probably are better this way. i dont talk to anyone ive known for more than 3 years. if i make it 3 years with all of you, it will be an accomplishment. i tend to uproot alot. i do alot of running: mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually. i teach sunday school at my church. i like to inspire thought and most often that means controversy. so i like politics and religion, and the discussion and exploration of them. most people consider me a liberal (i classify myself as a progressive conservative: i am personally conservative, but i try to let that have as little bearing on my social views as possible; you cannot legislate/force morality). i bought rpgm2 for like 27 bucks in el paso texas when it first came out because there is nothing to do in el paso texas, and at first i was kind of clueless, to be honest (maybe i still am?). i still have no idea how to do anything with the dbs, but well, everyone has so many tips that one day i might learn. i made a chess game (which because i start over/uproot everything alot, no longer exists... stupid, i know). i also made the tactical battle system with the help of vic on the agetec boards, a guy i still talk to amazingly (he may break the three year rule now by a month come to think about it) and thats where i met doan. i cannot stand and have little time for arrogant/prideful people. if you are self aggrandizing or want everyone to see whatever new technique youve developed and tell you how great it is and try to sell it to solve every problem, youre probably annoying me. im not as hard as i used to be, so im not going to outright say it. its a part of the hacker culture i align with alot: stop trying to dig for praise and boost your ego by showing how great you think you are at something. anyways, sorry to rant on that. doan will break the three year mark sometime this summer. i think jesus and thoreau were the original hippies, and both are oft quoted role models for me. i like to read (have i already said that?). i like to write. i am mediocre at pretty much everything, but havent quite found that thing at which i think i am exceptional . im teaching myself to play guitar. reread the sentence about mediocrity if you wonder how well i play. well, i guess thats it for now. sorry for the rambling. if i have more to say, im sure ill say it, and let everyone know somehow.
so it occurs to me ive never actually done one of these... im not going to do it now; im just reserving the spot for when i do. if its not done by next friday, someone let me know: it means ive forgotten.

My name is 50 cent...what? You don't believe me?
Anyway, moving on, I'm gonna be a junior in highschool, I love playing poker(jetset poker baby) online and with friends. Soccer is my favorite sport and I would really like to play professionaly, but I'm no where near good enough. I also play the trumpet and sometimes piano when I compose songs for my RPG Maker games. I like playing video games. My favorite series are Final Fantasy, Metal Gear Solid, ZoE, and of course the RPG Maker games. I have a huge imagination but a small attention span(too much tv watching). I get moderate grades in school because I just procrastinate way too much. That sums me up. And I was joking about my name being 50 cent. Its really Obie Trice...what?

Originally known as Ronald Pables (pay-bulls) from New Jersey... "The Garbage State". I smoke about a pack a day of Malboro Red 100s and to help inspire me (like in RPGM2) marijuana. It eases my minds and lets me think more clear then ever before. My favorite game series ever would be Final Fantasy, but I am more of a fan of the classic ones like FF5 or 6. I am what most stereotypical folks call a goth kid because of my dark attire and aura when around me, but trust me you shouldn't feel unwelcome because I love to chat and meet others. I am the quiet kid who sleeps all day in school and sits in the back of the class and doesn't wake up until 4 periods later. I try to keep my games away from the usuals like always being a hero. One of my favorite games I made you play as a bad guy and kill innocent folks.

I am most commonly known on the web as NWalterstorf. People usually call me Nick or Walter. Your choice. I am a musician, an Organist to be specific. I am also an aspiring author, and I'm studying in Philosophy, Theology and Epistemology.
The RPG Maker games are a hobby of mine. I'm a veteran when it comes to RPGM1. I've written one FAQ for RPGM1, and a second FAQ (a reduced yet updated version of the original) is in the works. I experiment with RPGM3, but it's not to my liking. I have found myself drawn to RPGM2 on numerous occasions. I believe I'll stay here.
I also am a member of the RPGMMag, but I left a few months ago.

Tron Carter Story? I find glitches in videogames, I love seeing what I can do exploiting the flaws in games. A big name in what was the MGO glitch community in the glitch group UGG, I was Buddy Love. I was also the leading glitcher in Ratchet and Clank: UYA.
I play shooters mainly but after playing Dragon Quest 8 I loved RPGs again, it was perfect imo.
I use comedy in things I make even if they have a serious tone, which is why I respect the Metal Gear franchise.
I like sexy girls, alot, maybe too much, nope not to much, just enough

Hi Everybody! My real name is Ben Borchers. I live in Cherokee, Iowa and I was born in 1980(I know, I'm old...). I own all 3 console RPG makers, but I prefer the freedom and creativity of #2. My interests include; music(both listening and composing/recording), horror films and RPG's of course.
My current RM2 project is called "Tales Of Runesol". I've been working on it sporadically since early 2007, though more recently as of late. I've learned a lot about the possibilities of the software since discovering this community and hope to be a helpful contributor.
