All I've done so far is delete everything. That is, I started on hard, and then went through and deleted even more. All that's left is the stuff I can't delete -- the Death and Error Messages scripts and Party Member Virk (with no model) -- and I've cleaned those out so that they display a one line text message: "Error " + the number, and "Death". I am truly starting from scratch.

It's looking like this is going to be a game engine of sorts. I'm starting with creating all my custom scripting stuff, rather than starting in on story stuff.
Right now, of course, there are no Object Models, Character Models, Buildings, nothing. Is this a problem for people who would be interested in using such an engine? My plan is to put the bare minimum on here so that someone could pick up and not have to delete everything, just plug in their stuff and proceed.
Besides that, my favorite part of this game is writing the scripts (I know, call me crazy), so that's what I'm doing right now.
What I have so far: ------------------------------- Default Enter/Exit Map scripts set up My CCS A GameState and WarpSound variable
Thanks in part to my Software Engineering course (and my experience with RPGM2), I'm in the habit of trying to write stuff that is very reusable and easy to edit. The goal is for no sequence of script commands to appear in more than one place. That is, I'm going to "modularize" as much as possible, so that many scripts will just be sequences of calls to other scripts. I'm putting descriptions on all scripts, and I also have a script at the top just for Notes.
being a little ambitious, doan. good luck with the building everything from scratch, but i'm sure you can do it.
i would like to hear some story when you make one, though.
Black all around me, even the water. The water’s not really black, of course. Reflection from the sky. Water’s like a mirror sometimes. Lets you see your face in it, anyway. Reflecting the night’s face, then, isn’t it? Does the night have a face? It must. Otherwise the water couldn’t reflect it.
I am made from the dust of the stars and the oceans flow in my veins
doan, as you are trying to modularize your game, be careful. i work to do this as much as possible, but ive found that sometimes, calling a section of code will not have the same affect as if it were placed directly in the script. its usually due to the ecclectic passing of priorities between coconspiring events, but usually in places where this occurs (for instance my cursor) the code is best placed in the script where it would normally just be called. good luck.
