It sounds like RPGM3 is for novice makers. Could be fun, I might get it, but I'm not expecting to make any awesome games with it. (from what I've heard) It does seem like all the games would be a lot alike. Maybe they'll double the number of monster and character graphics available? I'd like that, a lot.

I feel that RPGM2 is waaaay too limiting how do you think I'm gunna feel about #3? Well I doubt very much that I'll get much any of what I want for customization, I have high demands that I know more than likely have no chance of being made. I only wish I was in the developing seat...

This is one of the main reasons I wish they hadn't called it RPGM3. It should be called Medievil RPG Maker or RPGM1.5 maybe. I just think personally that a new maker would expand upon all the options the previous game had, not add more limitations. I'm sure the game will be good, and like its predecessors I'm sure we'll learn to get all we can out of it. Don't knock down just yet. Let's see what it can do!

Well, the graphics look better, and you can still make some good elements with less effort. Variables seem to still be in as well(but they'll probably be limited).

But then again, this is the rpg maker community, We could make a RTS MMO SIM WAR SMOOTHIE game with rpgm1 if we put our minds to it. So no matter the limits, we can defy them. You with me!?.........(cricket sounds.)....okay, maybe were best off until rpgm4, but still, were all talented enough to go past what the developers thought.

I agree. A lot of people have broken the limits of RPG Maker 1. Perhaps there's ways to break the limits in RPG Maker 3.

Breakable limits =/= flexible game though.
The Zelda Classic community(www.armageddongames.net) is an easy indication of that.

Personally, I felt that RPGM1 was missing only two things. An if/then statement, and variables besides the obvious money variable. As long as RPGM3 has those, I'll be happy. Oh, and pretty much every other option that RPGM1 had. Maybe some of the options from RPG Tsukuru 4 as well (not sure what it had, but I know it had more than RPGM1).
I'll probably miss the ability to create custom characters, but that's about it. Being forced to use stock VFX, I won't mind. I never liked creating my own VFX anyway, even in RPGM1.
Someone really needs to post a list of the available character/monster models.

Man, I'll probably miss a lot of things. I loved creating my own effects, I could have all kinds of fun with them making my own life bars, custom damage animations, my goodness that ediitor is deep... I'm sure someone that was using it to the fullest would weep for days if it was missing from an RPG Maker now that it's been introduced. I sure as heck would(that would mean no FPSs, shooters or action games OMG!).

Yeah, I'm sure others will miss it, along with some other features that undoubtedly won't be in the game (I don't expect any sort of battle animations to be available outside the battle system).
