As far as I can tell, that delay is caused by my cheap movie maker program. When I imported the movie into the program, it automatically cut it up into about four hundred "scenes" ranging from about 5-45 seconds each. If I wanted to use one of those scenes from the very beginning, it worked fine, and the transition was smooth, but if I had to trim a few seconds off of the beginning of it, it gave me that "delay" effect. It irritated me to no end, but I stopped fighting with it after awhile... I couldn't figure out what to do about it... all the more excuse to start saving up for Final Cut Pro! Thanks for the compliments, though... I'm glad you liked it!

How did you get the clips to import into WMM? I am trying to make one, but it is not working...

Are you trying to import it directly from the CD? If so, you've got to rip it to .mpeg first.
If you don't have a program that does that, you can download one from the Internet.

Okay... I'm about three weeks late, but Video #2 is up on YouTube! www.youtube.com/watch?v=XD87N2M-XZ8It's the original, fast version of Slipknot's Vermillion, which presented a bit more of a challenge, but I had quite a bit more fun with it, and I learned a few things about fades, too. The only thing that bothers me about it is that it's a bit blurry in sections; not sure what to do about that. It's not like that on my computer, and my other video didn't have that problem. The only thing I can figure out is since it's nearly two minutes longer, YouTube had to compress it a bit. At any rate, I promised I'd share it, so here it is... let me know what you think! Thanks! EDIT: One of the things I really tried to shoot for on this video was timing; that's probably my biggest concern. So, I'd like to know how I did on that... I tried to sync up the movements as well as I could with the song. And just for the record, I did play with the colors a bit for effect, in case anyone was wondering why parts of it were sepia-toned. I thought it gave it an interesting look.

Once again, it was well done. I did appreciate the timing of the video to the song: it seemed that at one point, the cat-thing was running to the beat of the music. That was pretty cool.
I really think you should search online for a good open source movie editor/mixer. There has to be a good one out there because I know there are tons of "Linux geeks" who do this sort of thing, so you shouldn't have to be tied to a limited WMM program.
I can definitely see that you have good artistry and vision (I also like the sepia tones you talked about), but I think you could do a whole lot more with the proper tools.
Good luck and I look forward to seeing future projects.
