Okay... well, here goes... I've been here nearly two years now, and I've yet to come up with anything tangible on RPGM2. In fact, I don't think I've ever really shown my creative side (or lack thereof) here on the boards at all. So... here's an exclusive first look at the first project I've been proud of in a really long time. Basically, the concept behind this was that I wanted to play with the idea that through creative editing and musical cues, a story we're all (well, most of us) familiar with could be changed into something else entirely. I've never used movie making software before, but I'm pretty happy with the way this turned out. If you watch this, please know that it wasn't done with the intention of following the plot of Advent Children; it was an attempt to adhere to the themes of the song I set it to... Slipknot's Vermillion Part II. Constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated at this point. Like I said, it isn't meant to be Advent Children, and I'd like your opinions on where you think I was going with this particular story. This is important to me, as everyone interprets things differently. For the record, I used Windows Movie Maker (I didn't want to drop money on a "real" movie editing program until I decided if I really enjoyed it), so it's saved in .wmv format. I'm not astute enough to figure out how to change it to .mpg yet (to my knowledge, Windows Movie Maker doesn't allow you to do so). So, I hope it works on your computers... I just tested it on mine, and it seems to be fine. At any rate, I hope you like it. And just as a side note, if you haven't seen Advent Children... this video could be considered to contain "spoilers." www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_8xejQ-zLk

Done. It should be public. I'm sure it'll take a bit.
I didn't realize "Private" was such a hassle; I suspected I could just send the link and it'd be fine... just not searchable. Sorry!

It is alright, xD, Youtube just needs to change that, if they do...
EDIT::: I like it, good quality, pretty good song, went pretty well with it, but one thing. NOT ENOUGH FIGHTING SCENES! J/K, I think it is good. I gave it a 5/5

It was well done, the scenes matched the song quite well.

I would have made an Advent Children video with Dope - Now or Never, but my computer was being crappy, and will not read write-protected disks, and froze when I got it to work. TT-TT
And anyone that says your video sucks, they suck.

That would never happen, Christi is a well known member here and besides we don't take kindly to that type stuff, there is really no need for it.

I know, that is why I am saying it, I like it, and if they do not, then they should not deserve to watch it, that sound better?

Thanks, guys!
I actually started another one yesterday... it'd be a prequel to this one, with Slipknot's original Vermillion track. It's a lot more fast-paced, and would lend itself much better to fight scenes, which was my intent. We'll see how it goes... it's proven to be a bit more difficult so far!

I really enjoyed it, not much of a Slipknot fan, but you had really good timing. I normally don't enjoy fan made videos. Plus you didn't choose anything really stereo-typical, which is new for a fanboy/girl.
Anyways yeah good stuff. I would like to maybe see a new video, with The Doors song Not to Touch the Earth. That would make me happy. ;D

What I realized, is that their battle scenes are very rhythmic, and some parts in the battle scenes should not be to hard to do.

I just watched it again, and I just noticed something, Kadaj, Loz, nor Yazoo, is in there... Then again, 60% of their scenes are to fast paced for the song...

I'd love to watch it, but I don't have a lot of time on here. I'll try watching it tomorrow and I'll tell you what I think.

Thanks for the feedback, you guys! I'm glad you've liked it, so far!
I'm almost finished with the prequel... the original version of Vermillion is considerably longer than its followup, but I'm pretty happy with the way it's turned out. You'll get to see a lot more battle scenes in this one. It wasn't as hard to choreograph them as I thought it'd be, and I've learned a little bit more about my movie making software in the process. Should be fun... !
So, barring YouTube not cooperating with me (it took me about five tries to upload the last one; it kept stopping), I should have it up by Thursday at the latest.
Thanks for the support, everyone!

All right, here's what I think.
Great job! I have to say I didn't see anything in it that needs to be criticized.
Also, like Bigfoot said, it wasn't like your typical fanboy/girl video. It felt a lot deeper.

I agree that it was very well done. The only thing that annoyed me after a little bit was that every scene change had that one second (or so) pause. It worked well for some scenes, but it diminished the effect when it happened every time. You did a really good job of telling a story with the song and the video, though, and it was entertaining. Well done.
