My girlfriend and I are not going to drink any pop (we already rarely drink it), and we are eating/living healthier. We just had our "last supper" tonight: we went out and gorged ourselves so that we could remember the unpleasant fullness of gluttony, in hopes of avoiding that in the coming year. We plan to finish the groceries we have, and from here on out, buy as much fresh produce and whole grain foods as we can.

I can't do anything because no one would do it with me and I lack the self-control to do it on my own :-( I wanna a loose just a tid' of weight and work on some of my muscles and health but it's a long road of disappointment so might as well give up now and pig out on all the holiday bakings I got.

Hmm... while it will certainly be nice having someone to do these things with, the more likely outcome is that I will be pushing her a lot more than she pushes me. After all, I do have some personal goals that having nothing to do with her. I think a good approach (and one that I will try this year) is to actually make a list of some of the things you would like to accomplish by then end of the month, by the end of winter, and by the end of the year. Then, there will be things to check off and a place to look whenever you find yourself cruising the Internet procrastinating or being bored. After all, if you're going to procrastinate anyways, it would be better to do it while doing something else that you want to accomplish.
Also, as far as eating well, we still have a bunch of food from last year that we are going to finish. My idea is simply to watch my buying to ensure that I limit the number of unhealthy foods that I buy. So in your case, I would have no problem eating the holiday bakings (moderately, of course), while avoiding buying fast food and stuff like that. Also, nothing has to be a long road of disappointment, unless, of course, you expect it to be.

i have a few resolutions. I am going to try to finish my book this year (by may, i hope, but i doubt it). I'm also reading a book a week. And write a page every day (strongly connected to finishing the book). So far... I'm doing decent.
