Yesterday, one of my friends overdosed on drugs and died. I just found out this morning. I'm devastated. He wasn't my best friend, but he was a good, funny guy, not the type that you'd expect to do something like this. I'm still having trouble believing that he's really dead. I've never done any drugs in my life, but I don't think I ever really took it seriously up until now. If you or someone you know take any type of drug (unless your doctor prescribed you to it), please stop. Don't throw away your life like my friend. This has really waken me up to the reality of drugs. They will destroy your lives.

Dude I'm very sorry to here this. Last school year I lost 2 girls in my class in a car accident. We were a class of 20 now and we are all very close. It's tough. Hang in there.

Thank you, Nash. I appreciate that. I'm sorry about your loss. It sucks that these sort of things happen, but they help you to appreciate the people close to you even more.

But, im not gonna delve into that, I hope you feel better.

I'm sorry, too. I had a friend who died in a drunk driving accident, so I know that those sorts of things really suck.

It's hard to get through that kind of stuff sometimes. I know exactly what you mean, one of my good friends overdosed and passed away last year. And my cousin also overdosed. It sux and it's hard, I am sorry to hear about that, hope your alright though bro. Those situations are absolutely craptastic. Man if drugs were a street gang I'd go to war with them with bottles and chains and crap haha. sorry, I have a you know weird way of looking at things =P I wish you the best though. and even more to his family.

I haven't lost a loved one, but I have lost myself. My best tips would be to work through your emotions instead of denying them and to focus on the positives that you still have such as your health and success (2 out of 3) and that your emotions will fade with time even if they don't go away completely (an end in site, well, almost). I can already see that I speak for everyone here when I say that we care about you and wish you the best, and I'm certain that if we had known your friend or his family we'd be saying the same thing to them right now.

Thank you everybody. I just went to the funeral yesterday. It was probably the most depressing thing I've ever seen in my life. It was hard looking at his mother, because she was just hysterical. I saw the toughest guys in my class breaking down in tears. And then, when I was going back to school, it just hit me really hard and I just broke down crying. This is the second biggest loss I've ever experienced. The first was justified because it was my great-grandmother and it was her time. But this guy was young and had his life ahead of him. He had many friends that loved and cared for him. And now he's gone. Anyway, thank you all for your concern.
