Yeah, those were pretty good. Lists like these are always funny to those who play RPGs because we so readily accept these ideas without even considering how ludicrous they are until someone like this points it out for us.

I love the:
~~~ Wow! Won't We Not Be Surprised When They Don't Say Anything (Garnet rule)
For some reason, the programmers felt the need to specify (even when no text had been displayed for the last thirty minutes) that certain characters are not saying anything. You will be notified periodically what characters are still not speaking by the ever-famous "......".
heh, yeah.
only thing is, i use this to indicate hesitance instead of silence. so when a character is saying "...", they are hesitating to say what comes next.
but yeah, although fairly short, they were still pretty funny and accurate cliches. except i have to disagree that there is always a dance scene. none of mine have any, i don't think Tales of Symphonia did (unless i missed it), and other than Kamaro's Mask, i'm pretty sure there were no dance scenes in zelda.
Goron dancing!! Favorite part of the game. Anyways, yes, dancing scenes are actually quite uncommon: SO2, SO3, TO:LUCT, TO:KoL, FF7, FF9, FFX, FFT, DW1, DW2, DW3, DW4, DW5, DW6, DW7, DW8, DW9, DW10, Pokemon Blue, Pokemon Green, Pokemon Red, Pokemon Yellow, Pokemon Silver, Pokemon Gold, Pokemon Ruby, Pokemon Emerald, Pokemon Sapphire, Saiyuki:JttW, numerous early Zeldas, numerous early FFs, FFL1, FFL2, FFL3, FFA, ToS... meanwhile, ones with them: FF6, FF8, FFX2...
What's DW?
I thought DW stood for dragon Warrior (AKA Dragon Quest). There were dance scenes in every Dragon Quest game (well, I don't know about 5 or 6 since there isn't an English version) and there are only 8 of then (DQ8 is only two weeks away!)
There are also Dance scenes in FFI, FFIV and FFVI. Many early console RPGs had dancing, although you sometimes had to search for it.
Wow... Is it me, or does this guy play too much Final Fantasy? Almost every cliche mentioned made some reference to the series. And about half of them seemed to apply only to the FF series (the silent bob rules, story battle rule).
I found this humorous only because (heavan forbid I say this), I dont really like FF. i used to, but then all the characters seemed to turn androgenous, and walk around in the dumbest clothes (put a shirt on, Seymor).
I'm way off on a tangent here... Anyhoo, thats my observation.
ban the infidel!
no, im kidding... im not a fan of the new final fantasys. they had their place. now they are a bit off. hope 12 fixes that.
oh, and i didnt like these as much. they arent they same dry sense of humor. this guy tries too hard to be funny, and well, it just isnt.
I thought FFX was one of the saddest video games ever, like it could almost make someone cry. I don't think it needed a sequel, but regardless, it was one of my favorite RPGs that I've played recently. I thought the Overdrives were done pretty well, as well as the weapon upgrades, the revolutionary Sphere Grid leveling system, the battle system itself wasn't all bad either (although it was annoying to try to get all 7 people into every battle so that everyone would get experience), and blitzball was one of the funnest minigames I've ever played. I watched my roommate play FF7, and in my opinion, X was better. My two favorites are still the original FF for NES and FFX for PS2.
