I know there is around 2 other DQ8 topics, but I felt the need to make a new topic to brag.
I finally beat this game, it took me about 90 hours to beat the damn thing. So if you have spare time (sorry Doan.) I reccomend it. Though it took me around 3 months to beat it....
Anyways another excuse to spam.

What's up with everyone beating it in 60+ hours? Took me 38.

I've put about 108 hours into the game so far and still haven't finished everything. I'm not able to play it at school so I can't finish the dragon trials until March break. I finished the main quest at about the 85 hour mark but I did all the side quests and everything at the same time. At that point I had everything done you can do before the first ending. When you say you finished the game, do you mean the main game or everything (including the dragon trials)? You can go through the game in under 40 hours but you miss a lot of stuff if you do that. The casino alone can eat up a lot of hours.

I can't possibly think of how to beat the game under 40 hours..... In all honesty I can't.

Nice job.
I got the game for my birthday (in Dec.), but then I got RPGM2 for Xmas, and I haven't played DQ8 since, and I've only put about 15 hours into it. At least I know if I ever need a break from RPGM2, I've got something fun waiting for me.
Congratulations.

When you say you finished the game, do you mean the main game or everything (including the dragon trials)? No, after I beat turn based RPG's I never really care to play after I beat it. (Xenosaga II had this feature as well.) But I got all of the characters best weapons (except for the flail of fury.) best armor, etc. Some of it included going to the casino (bingo is a bitch! I reccomend roulette.) And that ate up a ton of hours. Plus I leveled up for hours on a hill with metal slimes, liquid metal slimes, and king metal slimes. Which all give a ton of exp. Sometimes I would get lucky with the lightning thrust move with the heroes spear and get criticals on the metal king slimes, which give 30,000 exp if you can luckily beat them. So yeah, DQ8 can take up a ton of time.
