Nathan jumped ship.
It makes me really really sad.
I may do the same.
I feel bad.
Life sucks.
Why anything?
GRRRR
Ed:
The pav also really angrifies me.
It's been a good time with some of you.
Friends Forever for some.

Now now, lets not have a gay sad ass "please don't go" session. I don't feel like begging poeple not to leave by telling them how awesome they are. Poeple shouldn't even be pulling stunts like this on a forum dedicated to a videogame. I don't think its worth it.
Nathan has been getting depressed lately because he thinks he hasn't been getting noticed. Which is utterly ridiculous. His games are some of the most noticed in the community. Hell, the 2 games going head to head for the golden journy award at the Magazine are both Nathans.
Nash, I consider you and Nathan some of my best friends, and it confuses me to see you guys pulling stupid stuff like this.

Sorry guys I don't mean to be a depressor but Nathan has been one of my best net friends. He's like a brother. I know how nathan feels, i had to overly annoy and advertise to get people to play my game. TFR is just finally playing through and enjoying, thank you A LOT I mean it. I was thinking of jumping ship in regards to my own life not because of just nathan, but in part. I have come here for a LONG time, RPGM2 takes a lot of time. And for all the work you put into it you don't get much recognition. Then others go and criticise and what not, it's hard. But i have semi-wasted a bunch of my life here. I say semi cause it's not really true. I have made awesome friends, learned a ton, and have been able to share and help others. This place has become such a regular part of my life I don't now what I'ld do without it... but eventually I'm gunna have to. Why get even more attached?
It's not lie I'm ever gunna stop talking to some of you, we've done too much. But honestly Nathan could use a little time to get his life on trac with getting a job and money and starting college and the real world... and I could too. I'm gunna stick around but Nathan really needs to come back.

You guys can you know... Take a break. Jumping ship isn't really necessary.
And what do you mean by your work getting critisized? The only thing I critisize about your work is that I want to another full game from you. Or some promise of a full game.

What exactly do you mean by "jumping ship"? What immediately comes to mind is switching to PC (or mac!) game development, using one of the PC rpg makers or some other development tool. I'm probably wrong on that assumption, but I can't figure out what else you mean by that.
I know what you mean about all that work for little recognition. But that is probably because of the size of the rpgm2 community. It's not really that big. And you can only get so much recognition from those people. But that's the reality of the situation. You don't like it? Then make games using a tool that can be used by a broader audience. That's partly why I'm using Game Maker now. In part (obviously) for the power it has in creating 2D games. But also because I can give (or sell if I feel evil) my games to anyone who has a half-decent PC (including real-life friends).
As for criticism, I know I've given you my share of it. But it's not to try and get you down. I gave you (hopefully constructive) criticism to try and help you make your games even better. I wouldn't have given you that feedback if I didn't think you were good with rpgm2. Don't think of criticism as us thinking your game sucks. There may be things that could use more work sometimes. But the games are good enough that we try to suggest ways to improve aspects of them.
That's just absurd. First of all, why get attached? If you didn't get "attached" to anything in life because you were afraid that you'd have to leave it/him/her, then what kind of life would that be? Life can end at any minute. Why not enjoy the things you like in life as long as you can? So what if at some point you have no choice but to leave? At least you'll have the memories of all the good times you spent here.
If you want to leave because you want to focus on other things, or because you don't enjoy it here anymore, or because you just don't have the time, then that's fine. It's your life. But if you leave because you're afraid of getting too attached... well, again, it's your life, but I think that's the wrong kind of attitude to have.

Seriously, Take a break! I did. Haven't touched my PS2 since April! I post once in a while because, like you, I consider people here Friends. It seems to me that if you are more focused on what happens to your games after you make them than just having fun making them, you're missing the point! It is all about the Journey, not it's completion! Take a break, and Come back soon, Both of you! Peace

[white]There comes a time for all of us when we feel ready to quit completely. I myself didn't touch RPGM2 for over six months until just recently when I started it up again. Like the others before me I recommend taking a break.
Everyone here is aware of the amazing achievements and accomplishments you have made with RPGM2 and to the community as a whole (even if the posers at the Pav won't acknowledge it).
We all look forward toward whatever project, game, idea, etc that you come up with next. After all, you were one of the first, if not the first (I'm not certain) person to make a complete game for RPGM2. Just think, hundreds of people that you've never met know who you are because you made a game of your own.
That my friend is recognition.
So, go on and take all the time you need for yourself, just be sure to leave RPGM2 sitting next to your other games.
And, sooner or later, you know you'll be back, because at the root of it, we don't do it for fame, we do it because we are the creators of worlds all our own.

I agree with what everyone else above said. There's really no reason to just quit. Take a break for a while and you might find yourself coming back fresh with new ideas.
Quitting sounds a little too drastic.

I agree that is ok to take a break. I usually take a break from this game for months at a time. In the mean time, during my break, my brain is conjuring up new idea that are fresh and great to use for later on in my game to make this much more interesting. So don't leave the game just because you need a break. Take a break, then come back later on when you are ready to play this game again, but until then, take a break as long as you like.
Edit: - Don't feel bad about what the pavilion people think. I my view, that place is horrible. It's filled with a bunch of noobs, and I never go on that site. It's just not the same as this place.

As far as RPGM2 goes, it's so weak. It seems like over half the people on that site don't even make games. and Nash, your practically a legend, I heard about you like the first day I ever went to the Pavilion when I got RPGM3. What is this silliness about recognition?

I think it's a wasted effort. I'm betting there's more to it than just that. Whatever it is, we all wish you, both Nash and Nathan (and whomever else is suffering), the best and hope that things work out okay.
