In regards to the Custom Levelling System I'm working on:
(If you've not read the thread and would like to have a better idea of what I'm talking about, it's "Reawakening - Game Info and Progress" on the "Our Created Games" board)
Basically, what I'm needing to implement at this point is a menu screen allowing the player to choose a party member to upgrade, after which a flag would turn on denoting which member is to be upgraded.
I could do this very easily with the Input Creation: Multiple Choice option, but the only problem is, not every party member is in the party at any given time, meaning the menu would, at times, give you the option to upgrade a member who wasn't in your party.
So, I was looking around at scripts, and found the Input: Display Member List function. This is nice, because it only displays members currently in your party. I spent a considerable amount of time trying to decide if there was any way to utilize this function for what I'm trying to do. In the preset scripts, this function is used to change member class, names, and status, and the Data: Target command is used afterwards, but what I'm really needing are more along the lines of multiple choice branches.
I'm also wondering if I can do this by somehow using Variable 086: Member Number, but I'm not exactly certain how I'd go about doing this. (I'm fine at using premade variables as script branch conditions, but I've not had experience using them in any other aspect.)
Any ideas on what would be the best way to go with this script? I'd appreciate any help you could give me.

Would it work to combine the two: use the Display Member List, then sort the Member Number and call the corresponding scripts/etc.?
One way, if all else fails, is having each come up separately, like, Work with char A? Yes/No, if Yes go to char A's grid, if No - Work with char B? Yes/No etc. I did this with my change party members and it actually works quite nicely and goes pretty quickly.
Another way is to make lots of different multiple choice menus where before it comes up it sorts which party members the player has and doesn't have and displays different multiple choice menus with and without certain party members. This'd be quite easy if the party members join in a certain order most or all of the time.
The last way is to make the player enter in the character's name themselves, though that's too tedious and I think the other ways are better.

I used your first suggestion... the Display Member List function, then sorted by Member Number, and it works exactly the way I want it to. Depending on which party member you choose to upgrade, that particular party member is teleported to their particular part of the board. I'm glad to know that I was at least thinking along the right lines somewhat (makes me feel like not quite as much of a newbie) Thanks for showing me how to make my idea work!

Cool! ;D I wasn't even sure if the first idea'd work or not.
