I'm not sure if this goes here or not but my question is defenitely tech related.
Does anyone own the EyeToy?
Does it require its own disc to operate or can it function without it?
Is there any possibility I could use it to take screen-shots of RPGM2?
If this thing has no technical application beyond 'playing' with it, then I'm definitely not getting it!

I have the eye-toy. Yeah I was hoping I could use it to put my pics into the game, but nope. The eye-toy only functions with certain games. Like the New Poker game you can see your opponents online and stuff! Which to me would be a disadvantage. Anyways it is actually really fun to play with and stuff, I should get the new antigrav....

Yeah, I heard Antigav was cool. You can actually control the angle of the board by tilting your head while using your arms to gram objects on the screen.
The guy who made Eyetoy says the next version will be able to detect distance so that it can detect when things are near the screen. This allows more 3D interaction. He created a basketball demo using the new technology that allowed you to move around the court and shoot at the net. Pretty neat stuff.

Virtual basketball? ;D Damn! I want one! Anyway, too bad you can't get screenshots on there. Still sounds like a cool piece of equipment, though.

Somebody, and by somebody I mean the people who make the cheat devices, should come up with a way to pimp out the eyetoy. Get it to take digital pictures or record whatever is on screen. It's gotta be possible, just no one has done it yet.

Yes the eye-toy is limitless. Just not enough developers using it yet. With it's motion detection and sound input etc... One could use it for practically anything. And there is one coming out for the PSP. Just think if we could use it to put mini-clips into are RPGM2 games, along with plain images and sound recordings! We could have our characters speak "OUCH!" when hit or whatever. Not to mention if they let us edit this like making our voice high pitched etc...
They could use this for practically any game to make it better etc... Think of an rpg game with a board yo stand on like Dance Dance Revolution and the eyetoy to literally put you into the game! Running around 3d environments with the DDR pad to move fd back etc, and your actualbody to turn and arms even to fight it would be AMAZING!!!!! Wow I should develop games....

i wish you could enter your own drawings or animations into rpgm2 You can put your own drawings into your game with a Picture Paradise digital camera. Just snap a shot of your drawing and upload it into the Image database in your game.

And the Cybershot DSC P30 seems to be the only one you guys have told me has the PP feature. Best price is at Amazon, used for $135. So uh... I might try to work and get one during the summer.

Yeah, the P30 is the only one garenteed to work. I think there was a couple of others that people got to work, but the P30 was the only one that works every time (this is the camera that Agetec used to test the feature to make sure it worked. ) I'm surprised an older model Digital camera still costs that much. You can get new Digital cameras for less than that with better features.

Yeah, oh well. It's okay though. I was surprised as well, $135 is a little rich for my blood. I'll get it though, maybe during the summer I'll work for it, or I can get one for my birthday. I dunno.

I saw a P30 on ebay last weekend, and the only bid it had on it was a penny! Sadly my bany and I aren't very happy with each other (don't ask) and I was unable to buy it myself.
Don't know if its still there, but its worth looking if you want one.
