I can't see the video either. If this is an older video, can someone remind me of what it is about. I'm sure if anyone wants any technical information on how to modifly the DBS I can answer most questions. Just be as specific as possible. I'm not going to design a whole battle system just to answer a few questions, but if you're stuck on something in paticular I can point you in the right direction.

It's really just the standard DBS. I couln't see anything special about it. Just one long ass battle against four imps.

watch the damage display. he did it in vfx, rather then the 'imp takes 4 damage' message.

About 1.5 months ago someone asked at the agetec forum for links to view OgreNix's demo videos, and I found the old topic at the Pavilion, but it didn't work any. I'm surprised it worked for them. I thought it was just deleted/taken down/whatever. It was the first video demo for RPGM2 ever. He had a custom menu system, custom camera system, and modified dbs with status effects and damage/heal values displayed by VFX so it looked cool. He used a lot of default VFX for abilities (probably just in the video for then) and had a fight with 4 powerful orange Imp enemies. I forget what his custom menu had except I remember not liking how we'd both thought of Quick Shop at the same time on our own( ). I think he also had a way of selling more than one of an item at a time for shops, and when being offered to buy the item it said what the item did, and somewhere he had it displayed how many items carried/free item slots each party member had. Oh, the menu also let the player choose between 14 or so dungeon BGMs.

Yeah, ok, I guess that technically makes it a MBDS, but all in all I wasn't overly impressed. What till I get mine finished. And DW's and William Kirk's are likely gonna kick ass.

He did all that with a CMS Man, I'm envious. Mine hasn't even got of the ground floor yet! What happen to Ogrenix? Why haven't we seen a game from him if he was that far along?

Yeah, he was one of the first to really streamline the DBS like that and make it look like it could be worth using. He posted on that Pavilion with that video about 8 months ago as far as I know, and at the time, it was really something because everyone was complaining about how worthless the DBS was. I don't know what happened to him... he and I used to correspond quite a bit through e-mail and he was even a member here, but it's been a few months since I've heard from him.

Ah yes, I remember that video now. Very impressive all the customization he did to the system. He was very inspirational in my own attempts to see what RPG Maker 2 can do. Blue Senshi is the only other person I looked up to as an expert in RPG Maker 2. There was a time on the Pavilion the three of us were answering all kinds of questions about what RPG Maker 2 was capable of. It was a time of new discovery and creativity for all.
There are people who are better at map making or better using VFX, but few have ever taken to scripting like the three of us. I still see Blue Senshi at the Pavilion once in a while, but I haven't heard much about Ogrenix. I hope he comes back to RPG Maker 2 someday.

I was extremely impressed with what he came up with (and to think he did it so long ago). It kicks some serious buttocks! Actually, I watch it every night before I go to bed and every morning when I wake up for inspiration to get through the day... OK, I made up that last part, but it seriously is pretty awesome what he came up with.

If someone has the video, it would be awesome if you could attach it to an e-mail and send to me, so that I can put it on my site and everyone can see it once more.
