A few general guidleines are: Copy and edit the pre-sets for making everything (items, enemies, party members, etc.) Press start on anything if you don't know what it does If you still don't know what a script command does look in Blood Knight's Scripting FAQ at www.gamefaqs.comStart with simple stuff like townspeople, and slowly build on your scripts and make them more complicated Don't make a script you don't understand, take your time And lastly, ask specific questions to get specific answers. For example, this is the best anyone could do with your question here.

Those FAQs are very helpful.
Don't be afraid to mess around with the different script commands. I played around with them one day and learned a lot about them. Don't go right into creating your game, even if you have it planned out if you don't know what the commands do. While you're planning out how you're game will be planned out, I recommend you spend some time just messing with the commands.
It's a bitch to figure everything out when you have everything planned out (you'll probably want to jump in and begin creating your game at that point).
However, if you have questions for the different commands, you can always ask here. The guide was very helpful with these, but it didn't give examples of the commands (which would have been very helpful). You can create some pretty awesome things with scripts, such as a timer for a mini-game or an ability or item with a very complex effect.
Most of us know how to do most of this, so don't be afraid to ask. ;D

However, I think I have a better way of doing the double digit timer script. Instead of making extra variables for the double digit, have a script branch checking whether or not the minutes or seconds are 9 or below. If so, add 0 before using the content script command to display the minutes/seconds.
It will save from having to create extra variables just for a timer and will be much easier to keep track of.

I posted the timer script when I wasn't the greatest at scripting(like a year and a half ago). A month after posting that, I found that a simple sort would work. That's why I encouraged people to come up with better ways to make a timer in the FAQ, as I came up with 3.
